  1. They're all different things. The Stage and Electro are sample-based, meaning they play back sounds of real instruments. The Lead 2x is a synthesizer, I had no idea they made a combo organ, and the modular is a software based modular synth. I think the stage is sort of a combination of the Electro and the Lead; I'm not sure as i've never played one, but for that amount of money it better be. I suppose the "best" for all-around application would be the Stage, as it does a little bit of everything.
  2. y'know, now that i think about it, and since i didn't see this post earlier, i would really, really enjoy a PM.
  3. I distinctly remember seeing a website a while back that had a list of many popular entertainers (wilco included) and how much they typically cost per show and other information pertaining to booking a band. does anyone know what site that is?
  4. i would love to hear them do Marquee Moon, but at the same time it's so similar to ALTWYS, that it'd be kind of..pointless. they should play Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft by Klaatu. or Bring on the Lucie by John Lennon. or maybe Go Cry On Somebody Else's Shoulder by Frank Zappa. but definitely Slow Ride by Foghat.
  5. the mix was kinda off, at least to my ears. but it sounded like Nels fumbled a bit and Jeff kinda sing-spoke for a portion of it. regardless, it was still great because it's Wilco. i enjoyed the smile he gave after "don't let anyone change your bag," which is just a great line. my favorite. edit: oh my god, that's so horrible. so strong of him to do Letterman, even after all of that. poor guy.
  6. oh, i saw it coming. and i also thought it was a pretty...mediocre performance, honestly.
  7. now, only if we could get carnival of light
  8. Theologians She's a Jar Radio Cure Hate it Here Misunderstood At Least That's What You Said Impossible Germany Panthers Someday Some Morning Some Time Sunken Treasure. in no particular order. except Theologians. that's my #1.
  9. has anyone ever heard the bonus track from BAITUSA, the Prelude for 110 or 220/Chelsea Walls Theme song? i'm assuming it's a mashup of Women of the World and the Chelsea Walls Theme like they did live, but has anyone actually heard the (i'm assuming) studio version of it? now that would be a nice thing to share, considering the import is like 25 bucks.
  10. it's their next to last album. YHF was their Sgt. Pepper, AGIB was their White Album, SBS is their Let it Be, and their next is their Abbey Road.
  11. at first, like a lot of people, i found the lyrics to be generally shallow and lacking the depth of jeff's previous output. upon repeated listen, i realized that the emotion is just bare instead of veiling it in abstractions. one of the reasons i absolutely love Hate it Here. it's simple, but it works so beautifully and the ending is so sad. i feel the same way for What Light, as well. Overall, my favorite set of lyrics is probably Please Be Patient With Me. i really love the line How can I warn you when my tongue turns to dust Like we
