rumors: - a deluxe edition will include 5.1 surround - new stereo mixes for both standard and deluxe editions (original stereo mixes being retired) - mono mixes and extra tracks on the deluxe edition - deluxe edition might also include hardbound book makes sense. i guess i'll be buying the damn deluxe editions. those always sucked me in (read: Bootleg Series, Vol. 8: Tell Tale Signs). couldn't hurt though...especially when i finally upgrade my sound system to 5.1! -justin -

yes, i'm pretty sure "Tryin' To Get To Heaven" is from the Crystal Cat (a bootleg company) release of that show, which is an audience recording. >Yes - the "Blind Willie McTell" and "Cocaine Blues" and "Born In Time" tracks are actually listed on the Lovesick single as 'field recordings.' Brother Theodore, I've been searching online for high quality rips of those Lovesick singles (I think there are three) for some time. I don't suppose you'd be willing to up 'em in high-quality .mp3? If not, I understand, but I tought I'd ask. -justin -
>only album in their catalog i can say that about. you forgot about A.M. -justin
-
i wish it would leak already. or at least the demos. God! -justin

i meant to say "like they are supposed to." i'm only going by statements that said it would come out in the Spring. personally, i want the band to take as long as they feel they need to. -justin
-
! 10 bucks says we won't get it next Spring like we are supposed to, but that would be fantastic! -justin
-
even the schizophrenic nature doesn't bother me, but where oh where have all the hooks gone man?? they are in the first 4 songs, but that's about it. i do have to admit that Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer? is a damn near perfect record. -justin
-
i saw them live shortly after the release. directly before that, someone had sent me a bootleg, so i knew what to expect: really poor vocals from Wayne and a bad mix. i knew it was all about the show experience, which was fantastic. that having been said, i don't think i need to go see them live again. -justin

>At War With Mystics gets a bad rap because it is not as good as those two, that's not why i give it a bad rap. i hear songs like "The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song" and "Free Radicals" and just want to give up on the whole enterprise. -justin

i know it says just one, but as far as albums go Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes. that having been said, the new Dylan archival release is sweet too! -justin -
i don't really care for any of A.M. and there are definitely a few i'd cut from Being There as well, so i don't have this problem. plus, i like "Glad It's Over," i just really wish it had been on the SBS import bonus disc or the other 2-song bonus disc... -justin

i particularly like the version of "Born In Time" on the first disc. i've listened to it at least 25 times. it's really nothing short of stunning. it's a spliced version of a take that has circulated on bootlegs for years and i always knew that the bootleg version from the Oh Mercy sessions was better, but hearing it in official context has done it for me. -justin -

>I got this and it makes me want to give Oh, Mercy another shot half of Oh Mercy is fantastic: "Shooting Star," "Man In The Long Black Coat," "Ring Them Bells," "Most Of Time." stay away from "Political World," "Disease Of Conceit" and "Everything Is Broken" though. -justin -
i actually heard it on the radio once. you know, it really isn't that bad of a song... -justin

and who knows, there are still conflicting reports as to whether the Performance series will be included in Archives, V. 1. some reports say yes, but the article you just posted said this third one will not be. other reports said that they would not be included, but the box would have places for the discs to slip in, etc. -justin -

LouieB, Analogman - help me out here, why are the last two releases uninteresting? i'd believe you if you said you didn't buy Fillmore because it wasn't a complete show and easily could have been. that's a valid excuse as the bootlegs are better. but, Massey Hall is fantastic. it had been widely bootlegged before, but if you already own the bootleg and love it, honestly, shouldn't you buy the official release? or is it he crappy disc-scratching packaging? just help me to understand please. -justin
