yeah, I won't be at any concert - but I sure would love to meet you! We can direct you to some good food at the Ethiopian place - it is my favorite restaurant, ever. If you like really spicy food, they have that going - but also some more lightweight options (which is what I get) And Jamie - I have to meet you too! I am assuming you will be here for a LRS - so maybe Edie's party?? -- I am also of the thinking that we should plan a VC long weekend retreat to my mom's house in the Catskills/Woodstock.....it is empty until summer. Who's down?? Jen? Jess? we can get lots of wine and co

well, it wasn't THAT good either.

I didn't think that movie was so bad.

no vacations that I know of......though I hope to get back to Columbus, GA in November again for the SOA protest. PigSooie - Chicago in Feb? Well well......you up for some Ethiopian food? I know it's not pig eyes in a bucket, but it's pretty awesome.

These days, it seems that the speaking of truth can be a revolutionary act. In many traditions the color blue represents truth. In wearing the color blue around one's neck, it symbolizes the speaking of truth. I have stitched the Hebrew word for truth "emet" into this. I am still messing with the lettering chart and am going to experiment with different yarns and gauges.....but I want to start a blue scarf revolution!

ok - you can add me to the list of people geeked out and in love with The Road. Holy shit, that's one of the best books I have ever read.

The Great Decider has decided that you should have a wonderful birthday! Finally, a Bush policy I can live with. Hope it's a good one!

Christy, I love love love your repurpose clothing......I would love to learn to sew, just so I could do stuff like that. It's so great!!
-
I am still waiting for mine - though it has been shipped
-
yes, but that whole fine motor skills thing throws me.....and with a speeding needle and the potential to tear a hole in my finger? eeeerrrrr....... I guess my first step would be to get a sewing machine....birthday is a long way off. My mom was going to give me one of her old Singers, but it is not in working shape.....bah.
-
I am so jealous of you guys' sewing talents....I don't know how to sew at all......

I have mastered the art of studying for comps: reading, taking notes, underlining, etc and knitting at the same time.....I am really happy about this, because I am really tired of studying for this exam.

I got mine here...... Isis Covers
-
the way it works is that you sign up - and then you are put on a waiting list - you will get your "invite" within 1-2 weeks.....I think it took mine like 8 or 9 days....it wasn't a really long time....and worth the wait. I love Ravelry!
-
thanks for the invite! I posted on there.

NPR was reporting that there was also an attack at another rally, for a different opposition candidate today. He was nor harmed, but the report said that some people were killed.
-
yeah, you could see this one coming - she had told her family to prepare for this as well - it did seem like only a matter of time. Still, just tragic. It's also tragic how many people have died in this attack and the last. I wouldn't be surprised if the ISI were somehow connected with militants in this. Here is an interesting documentary on the resurgence of the Taliban and their maneuvering and powerful presence in Pakistan.

Happy Birthday Neil!!

I am just devastated to hear of this news this morning. It was quite a shock to the system when we heard it on NPR as I was driving Graham to work.

I just use old graph paper to design - I am working on a scarf now with a design I did on a graph....it turned out even better than I had expected. Pictures soon to come.

it's actually close to DePaul University (which is about where the N and I are of the word Univ. - so it isn't in any of those zones - but yes, the North Michigan Ave zone would be closest, and an easy hop up the red line.
