how about the hardcover in the UK? don't they come out at the same time?

I am always so jealous of the Harry Potter fanatics when a book comes out. I love to read SO MUCH and would love to geek out like you all do about it - but I have never gotten into them. In my 'hood in St Louis, the last of the STL indie bookshops is having a midnight street fair/party for the release - it sounds like a lot of fun.

Natalie Jane.....where are you??

I did this one a few days ago. I should have been the fat lady body - but I didn't like her shoes

I watched this a couple days ago after not having seen it since I was 14 years old.......I have to say that I enjoyed it more as an adult, and that James Dean may very well be the most beautiful man to ever walk the earth.

Yeah in the movie they have it pasted behind (west) the stock exchange, and in real life (if it were placed where the movie has it) it would be like blocking traffic on the Eisenhower. There was no Chicago in that "Chicago"

totally guilty pleasure reading.......I wanted something mindless to veg out with after I finish my 2nd comp exam this week. I have spent the last month steeped in postmodern and poststructuralist gender theory......so, I am ready for something I don't have to think about. This will hit the spot.

I think Janis was gorgeous. no way - not in his younger days....

I thought both The Incredibles and A Bug's Life were clunkers - and I wasn't that big on Finding Nemo, though it wasn't that bad either. However, Monsters Inc. is one of my favorite movies.....love it! I also love both Toy Story movies.

yeah sort of - though O'Reilly is WAY more obnoxious. I was pretty stoked with Air America came on the radio and then was dismayed to discover that a good portion of the hosts were just left wing versions of the asshats that populate right wing radio - the loud, sensationalism of it all just really irritates me. I liked Rachel Maddow - but so many others just left a bad taste in my mouth.

I am talking about his delivery, etc in the special comments thing.....I watch him all the time, and like I said he and I agree on just about everything. I love the fact he speaks the truth and says such things.....but those special comments get way too long winded, and way too superfluous. If he cut them down by like half the time, it might work better for me. I am not talking about the message, but the delivery. That's all. FYI - I watch Olbermann almost every night.

I pretty much agree with Olbermann on just about anything that happens these days - but I do find his "special comments" to be pretty self absorbed and superfluous.

I can't speak to Ryan Adams stuff - but (IMO) as far as his review of SBS - he is pretty spot on.

aren't you done, YET? sheesh.

a kooshy think tank/lobby job is definitely in his future - and yes, I also see a book deal. I am not surprised - but am surely fed up with this bullshit. But then again, I was fed up a long long long time ago.

If this is the night of the 3rd and the wee morning of the 4th - we will be there!!

This makes me so sad. Last night I saw a wonderful documentary on Independent Lens about Sesame Street around the world and how in each country people come together in to talk about the needs their children have to feel safe and what skills and lessons they can learn. It was a beautiful program. On Sesame Street in Kosovo they are promoting friendship between Albanians and Serbians. Even some of the adults exposed their prejudices and hatred, but one woman said - "even if the older children have already have these feelings, by planting these new ideas in them, it will widen the gap fo

Glasgow attack seen tied to London bombs By IAN STEWART, Associated Press Writer 16 minutes ago GLASGOW, Scotland - A Jeep Cherokee trailing a cascade of flames rammed into Glasgow airport on Saturday, shattering glass doors just yards from passengers lined up at the check-in counters. Police said they believed the attack was linked to two car bombs found in London the day before. Britain raised its terror alert to "critical"

It's so frightening - I am so glad that, as far as we know, no one was killed today. Vibes and prayers for all in the UK.
