  1. HANDS DOWN. THE best pedal steel player out there is Eric Heywood. He played on Sun Volts Wide Swing Tremelo, but his work on Richard Buckner's album Since is the stuff of legends. He is easily the best "guitarist" I have ever heard live when I saw him and Buckner at Schubas in Chicago. I have always in my heart hoped somehow he would stumble into Wilco's way at some point.
  2. I love those whom love the Chiefs more than anyone.
  3. I am on the side of the two sets. Wouldn't it be great to see a show where the first part of the show is their new material and some favorites, and then the second set come back and play A Ghost is Born (with drone) in its entirety? That would be amazing.
  4. You have no idea what you are talking about.
  5. Leroy. Whom also had the best style of anyone, to bring up a closed discussion.
  6. Its true. I am a bit immature when talking sports.
  7. Two words: New Jersey Two words: Smells bad Two words: Go Chiefs.
  8. Two words. Larry Johnson. Two words: AFC MVP Two words 2000 yards The Chiefs will win the AFC West, now that we have improved our defense with Ty Law, Tambia Hall, Derrick Johnson.
  9. whichever one I am listening to at the time automatically becomes my favorite as in "dang I forgot how good this one is." Currently it is KT.
  10. I just realized, didn't Jeff say something last year about the new album sounding like 70's greasy soul, or something close to that, and that the new album would be more of a dance album? I do not see any of this happening with the new songs.
  11. Check out Bucktown if you are into the bar scene. It is the, how do I say "cool" area of Chicago, meaning the laid back hipster area if you will.....and it is the home of our boys who make that great music.
  12. What? You don't think Jesus etc sounds country? I guess I equate country with acoustic guitars, lap steel guitars, and cowboy hats, which they all wore when recording this song. Ok, I am just lying about the cowboy hats.
  13. jesus etc. is that the thanks I get ashes of american flags reservations muzzle of bees all sound country to me. I am just naming a few off the top of my head. there are many others.
  14. I hate this thread already..... Jay Bennett is a better musician and artist than anyone I have ever known personally, (and I studied music at a well known conservatory) , and f*** if I am not so sick and tired of the Jay bashing.....he was THE reason a portion of people are members of this site! Rediculous....how can anyone judge him, or not in the bottom of their heart hope that Wilco welcomes him back one day? (thougth it will never happen) Go Jay. Heres to your success.
  15. Sub par or not sub par, I still listen to the new songs more than anything else....basically on constant repeat. But, there in lies the rub of Wilco. I have to say the songs I hate the most in the beginning always end up my favorites down the road.
  16. hilarious. p.s. once in Germany someone said nein not exactly brillance.
  17. Going back to the topic of the Blisters, did anyone notice when the three kids were arguing over the poster during their youtube video that Spencer had his face in his hands, looking frustrated, and he looked exactly like his father working with Jay Bennett at the soundboard. A certain reserved annoyance if you will.
  18. Damn.....I need to install some plug in that I can not find for the life of me to watch this.....heart breaking....if anyone can give me quick help, that would be great. I went to the download center, downloaded the plug in, but my mac says that quicktime can't use the plug in because it is a file that quick time doesn't understand. argh.
  19. How anyone can say that they don't want O'Rourke involved in a Wilco album is way beyond me. He produced Wilco's two best records for crying out loud. (In my opinion) Granted he ruined them.....
  20. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!! I think the Lonely One still has to be in my top five favorities of all time.
  21. I was in Best Buy today, and I went to see if Wilco was in stock just for grins. I found this CD called "Picking at Wilco" I believe it was called, by a group of bluegrass musicians (no Wilco band members) whom play bluegrass Wilco covers. Does anyone know any thing about this? I searched the forums and found nothing......is it worth buying? Cheers.
  22. I just listened to this again, and I have to say that while Jay is very loud, there is something almost creepy and quite sad about knowing this was his last show.... listening to him play these songs for the last time, knowing he will never play them again, and knowing that he has no idea.
