  2. Oh, that is sooooo sweet! I'm sorry this is a late response, but it is coming from the opposite end of a similar story. My fiancee had feelings for me before I did for him, but I think the Wilco/Tweedy mix he made for me made me fall for Wilco AND him. His mix was perfect... 3. Oh, yeah! I've got my tickets for the Sept. 19 show. I can't wait! I'ts always amazing to see "Sir Andrew."
  4. I live/work in a small, Midwestern town. I have to hear that damned "Check You For Ticks," song (or whatever the hell it's called) and that "Brand New Girlfriend" song about fifty times a night respectively. I hate, hate, hate pop country. If I have to hear that Toby Keith lyric about "puttin' a boot in your ass" one more time I THINK I MIGHT GO CRAZY!!!! Alot of his music seems to foster racism and bigotry in my workplace, and the only way I can avoid being ostracized or lynched or something is to mention that I love Johnny Cash.
  5. Weeeeeeeee! So close to home! Just about a 50 min drive.
  6. Everywhere! Car, room, work, at my computer...anywhere I can play it.
  7. I love Sky Blue Sky with all my heart too! They rock as hard as ever, but Wilco has grown up, and this album appeals to a more mature audience. I think what Tweedy/Wilco have discovered is that good song writing does not have to be full of angst and suffering to be strong or genuine. (It takes a true and strong soul to strive for hope and positivity.) Maybe those who look down on this album's lyrics will appreciate them more once they have had a little more life experience.
  8. I completely agree with this poster! Go with our beloved Wilco.
  9. finally started interacting with the crowd with that crazy owl.
  10. Okay, here's an update... My brother kindly offered us his vacation time-share thingy for next year free of charge. And going by the destinations available, we have it narrowed down to Maui, Barbados, or Manzanillo in Mexico. Thoughts on these? We finally found a wedding location... www.winchesterplace.com On the subject of the original idea behind this thread... Since I know it is unlikely at best that Jeff would come to/play at our wedding, I mentioned to Blue and Green that the best alternative would be for him to learn the song and play it himself. Sadly, he's not one to perform i
  11. Shake It Off rocks my ass off. Sky Blue Sky puts a lump in my throat. (in a nice way)
  12. Same here! I'll be 24 in a couple of weeks though.
  13. adds yet another plane to an already multi-faceted band.
  14. Wow! Thanks for the input. I think what we're looking for is somewhere quiet, on the beach, romantic rooms, and as natural surroundings as possible. We would also like a place that offered massages for two and hiking trails. Any ideas? Thanks.
  15. The Sweetmess (aka Justin Carie) This is him playing on a balcony in the Cummins Bookstore in Columbus, IN. That is his painting behind him too! You can hear some of his stuff on his mySpace page. myspace.com/sweetmessmusic
  16. No thunder stolen at all! I love to hear about people getting married. We can bank our vacation too. So, we are going to take two+ weeks also. We really don't want to have a really long flight, so we were thinking about one of the quieter Caribbean islands. If we decide that a long flight doesn't bother us, then we might consider Kauai. Since I've never been to either place, I was hoping somebody would have some suggestions/insights.
  17. Oops! I missed this one. Congratulations to you too! That'll be a pretty special week. If you convince your fiance about the song, that will be pretty kick-ass. Where are you two going on your honeymoon? We haven't decided yet, and we're open to suggestions.
  18. Why was that a weird thing to say? First of all, it was half in fun. Second of all, in his post right before mine he mentioned that the personal lyrics and intimate performance caused him to feel uncomfortable. There weren't any words put into anyone else's mouth, and nothing came out of left field. Under the circumstances, I'm beginning to think you have a problem with intimacy. (Disclaimer: This was a joke. There is no need to get "weird"ed out or anything.)
  19. I love both of those songs. Do you have problems with intimacy?
  20. I guess we're both in a dreaming mood, huh?
  21. Wow! Since being at work and spending a day in the hospital waiting for my nephew to be born, I have missed alot. So, I'll try to respond to everything. Playing the song from a cd instead of having Jeff there is, of course, an option. But I really like the solo acoustic version of that song for a wedding, and I don't have a really clean copy without some crowd noise. I hadn't thought about having someone else play it. Somehow it wouldn't be the same without Jeff's voice. That is part of what makes the song so wonderful. In response to the ... guy, we have plenty of help as far as
  22. We're going to have an outdoor wedding in one of the Indiana state parks...not sure which one yet. That will be decided this weekend. And yes, I agree that the certainty of his outstanding performance would overshadow our vows. It was just a fun idea.
