I live/work in a small, Midwestern town. I have to hear that damned "Check You For Ticks," song (or whatever the hell it's called) and that "Brand New Girlfriend" song about fifty times a night respectively. I hate, hate, hate pop country. I love Sky Blue Sky with all my heart too! They rock as hard as ever, but Wilco has grown up, and this album appeals to a more mature audience. I think what Tweedy/Wilco have discovered is that good song writing does not have to be full of angst and suffering to be strong or genuine. (It takes a true and strong soul to strive for hope and positivity.) Maybe those who look down on this album's lyrics will appreciate them more once they have had a little more life experience.

No thunder stolen at all! I love to hear about people getting married. We can bank our vacation too. So, we are going to take two+ weeks also. We really don't want to have a really long flight, so we were thinking about one of the quieter Caribbean islands. If we decide that a long flight doesn't bother us, then we might consider Kauai. Why was that a weird thing to say? First of all, it was half in fun. Wow! Since being at work and spending a day in the hospital waiting for my nephew to be born, I have missed alot. So, I'll try to respond to everything.
