  1. Hmmm. I wasn't aware of Page coming out with a new record. I do think the guy is underrated, but I also think in regards to his former band the sum is much greater than the individual parts. So we'll see.
  2. I thought I'd do some digging around in the Archives & the Centos test page came up. Is this just an issue that is temporary? Thanks.
  3. poly-ethnic cajun slam-grass. oh wait, that's Leftover Salmon.
  4. Back when I used to teach air guitar, Kiss Alive was the record I would have my students start out on. Eventually they'd work their way up to "Eruption".
  5. Even though it's been played to death on that TV commercial, I gotta agree with Twisted Acres.."Tighten Up" is one of the best grooves evah.
  6. I truly hope Ft. Wayne really goes down...less than 2 hours up the road from me. It would be a real pleasure to get to meet you folks.
  7. I remember reading about Pete's ideas regarding the "Universal Note" in a Who biography ( I think it was the Dave Marsh one). Of course the more pragmatic Daltrey & the Ox as well thought it was a daft idea, to say the least. But they also thought the idea of a Rock Opera about a deaf, dumb & blind kid was pretty ridiculous & that turned out pretty good for them! At the time Pete was completely dedicated/ obsessed with the possibilty (having read Sufi texts, etc.) of feeding alot of his fans' personal information into a database that would assign a note for each person...sort of

  9. I couldn't believe that. People have been thrown out of games for less.
  10. In general I'd agree with that. I love scat, but instrumental jazz is always going to take precedence over vocals for me.
  11. " They're dancin' in the streets of Indy, bay-bee !!! "
  12. Wow. Teh Bucks escaped with their lives there. They definitely played like champs in the clutch, and that was one hell of a pressure 3 to put things in OT.
  13. That was one of my first NY boots. Never tried out the honey slide recipe, though.

  19. Tonight, the usual...Sierra Nevada. For St. Patrick's Day : a 6 pack of Bell's Hopslam. Ninja, if you've never had this one, both myboyblue & myself will attest to this stuff. Amazing!
  20. Absolutely. Phil's ability (esp. in the great '72-'74 period) to come up with the least repetitive ideas is what makes the thing work for me. Barely grazing the root notes. The P+F Band that he had from Fall '00 to Summer '02 (w/ both Jimmy Herring & Warren Haynes) put any modern day 'jamband' wannabees to shame. I really wish that group would've stayed intact...many jaw-dropping moments with that group.
  21. OK, I dove in. No Bitches Brew. Damn. I shouldn't have looked.
  22. That really should be a poll option. #3, hands down, yes?
