  1. Just got a call from one of my best friends, and a guy who has seen the band 125 times - from Hampton. He got a call from a college chum who had exras on Wednesday night. I'm so glad he's there because he drove all the way from IN to Coventry, only to get turned around before he reached the site. Anyway, he was describing all of the wacky and creative ideas the 'miracle seekers' on the lot have been using to try to score tickets. The best one I heard? A guy walking around with a big sign with two bags (filled with dirt) taped to the bottom of the sign, and above - "Coventry mud for your ext
  2. That was a nice blog. Thanks for posting that, Aman.
  3. Love that one. But if I had to choose just one it would have to be Achilles Last Stand. That song is the definition of epic imo.
  4. I concur, Matt. I have been on a real high (natural, guys ) for the last day and a half. We needed this.
  5. When I saw you had posted in this thread I was hoping this was what you were listening to.
  6. After looking at last night's setlist, all I will say is this: a certain selection of tunes (which I won't name for fear of jinxing) from a certain little story were not played. That's all I'm gonna say.
  7. Just a FYI, Moss: ALL the DP series is 2 track. But no worries cause they have stellar sound, for the most part.
  8. Looking back at the twitter link Aman posted. mind=blown.
  9. Never in a million years would I have called Fluffhead. I hope they KILLED that sucker.
  10. Man, I wish I was in VA today. When those lights go down the air will be SO charged!
  11. Yes. That's why (with the exception of Lennon) Crosby is my favorite singer in Rock ever.
  12. Love the new avatar, Mike. Has there ever been a more wasted looking dude than Brian on that cover?
  13. I know Garcia was a huge fan of Clarence White, and his work in bluegrass and with The Byrds. I don't think it's a coincidence that not long after Clarence joined The Byrds The Dead went from being an acid-soaked SF band to an Americana-styled rootsy band with "Workingman's" and "Beauty".
  14. Yep. I know it's just a matter of taste, but Beggars is not only my favorite Stones LP it's gotta be a top 5 all time (rock) for me as well. I had that record when it came out (I was a wee lad) and I never tire of it. I'll second Lou and Danny for BTB - many gems on that one too. And I know EVERYONE hates Satanic Majesties but I like that one quite a lot. Hell, "Citadel", "2000 Light Years", "The Lantern" - all great recordings, and great riffs. edit: And I DO think Exile is a great fucking record, but I would put it in the category of many double LPs (I'm thinking Blonde On Blonde, P
  15. Bob Spitz's biography is a pretty darn good one as well. It goes up to about '87/'88 or so.
  16. I've always loved the first Crosby/Nash album - Graham has some really good tunes on that LP.
  17. Hey jc, you're alright by me. Happy Birthday!
  18. My jealousy of you at this moment is off the scale.
  19. It's alright, Moe. I think the fact of the matter is that no one knows wtf is gonna happen. Seriously. And no one knows for sure what to do. All I can say for sure is this : if the whole shithouse goes up in flames I'm still gonna get my kicks until that time. Peace.
  20. Wow, that's just creepy as hell - thinking pearls on a droid look good.
