  1. I would think that Jindal is seriously considering a run for the Presidency in '12, because he probably just slit his own throat if he wants to run for Governor again.
  2. Thanks for the review, miss jayne. Wish I could have been there!
  3. It's all good, Z. I concur with most of what you said. Regarding the "pissing in the ears" article - that was written by the Indy Star music guy reviewing the 8/10/97 show at DC. I still have that article here somewhere. Christ, if he thought THAT was 'pissing in the ears' I wonder what he'd think of some of those lame-ass p/h shows? Here's a sub-topic to get some discussion rolling (I hope): what are your favorite p/h shows? I thought the last half of the month of July '03 was pretty damn strong.
  4. Nice! For my extraction it was GD 8/13/75 - Blues For Allah sounded really good that day.
  5. You know what? I liked this - nice post! I'm not sure I agree with all of these but this is a pretty good argument delivered here.
  6. I saw that monument thing on either Stewart or Olbermann (I can't remember which) and I thought "this HAS to be a bit, right?" I guess not - Christ.
  7. You'd just better wait until I've finished eating.
  8. Raphael Ravenscroft. I believe he either played on the LP or the tour (or both) for Roger Waters' The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking. I know that record was universally panned, but I always liked it.
  9. That's it, in a nut...I quit buying Stones records after Tattoo You. For me, it's YHF. I still like what I hear coming out but it seems like many many bands get that one record ( DSOTM, Tommy, etc.) that sort of defines a pinnacle of their career and for me YHF is that record. They won't ever sound like that again (to their credit) but, then again, they may never make a record that kills me like YHF does. But, I'm OK with that.
  10. Hell yes! HC Sunshine > Space > Bobby McGee. One of my favorite pieces of Spring '73.
  11. Mende, I hope like hell this happens for you. You MUST go, my friend. No kidding, I saw about a dozen shows last year and the Nels show was my favorite show of the year. My mind was so blown!
  12. Haven't watched it yet, but I'm such an unabashed Maher fan I'll be getting the DVD for sure.
  13. I think it was the 9:30 Club show from 10/19/06 - and Kris may be correct, I recall it was around 80.
  14. That is what keeps me going. I still haven't figured out why my "Ode To Abbie Hoffman" wasn't a worldwide smash hit though.
  15. Oh hell yes. William Manchester's "The Glory And The Dream" (1932-1972) is an excellent chronicle of that time period as well.
  16. I have a couple L.O.M. shows on cassette somewhere here. Don't recall the dates without looking. But, that compilation that came out a few years ago is exquisite. If you haven't heard their take on Dylan's "Wicked Messenger" you MUST. It's got this agonizingly slow tempo, and Jer just SHREDS the solos. Amazing.
