  1. It is my hope that today marks the final nail in the coffin of what was known as the "Reagan Revolution". That era is over. Let's get on with the new one.
  2. FLAC - we don't want no stinkin' mp3s.
  3. You're right on all counts, me thinks. My only problem with JC is this: being from Indiana you literally CANNOT go anywhere without hearing his stuff, especially "Pink Houses". Toxic oversaturation on all the local radio stations. It's like "Layla" or "Stairway" or something - I've heard that tune so many times I wish I would never hear it again. But he does have some very good stuff. Along with the ones Frog, Bunk & Solace mentioned, I have to put my word in for "Check It Out". Definitely my favorite JC song.
  4. Oh Lord yes, I hope so too! Maybe the best show I saw in ALL of '08 was the NCS. Just completely blew me away.
  5. All I have are cds - I'm completely ignorant when it comes to stuff like that. But I'm sure some torrent-savvy folks will hook you up. You might look at etree.
  6. I know I probably mentioned this way back in the thread, but The Clifford Ball is just about the peak, as far as I'm concerned. By the Fall things began to change, and rather drastically too. I guess things HAD to change...but once they "made it" big-time they was a complacency that seemed to set in imo. I'm still psyched to go out to the Creek again though - once it gets closer to June us VC Phans should consider a meet-up if possible. i know I'd like to meet you folks.
  7. Welcome! This is a great place to waste time (when you really should be doing something more constructive ) Enjoy - and the Dead thread is in someone else's song as well. -MB
  8. Congrats, man. I've never been a Steelers fan but that is one hell of a team you have there.
  9. I'll second "Castles", and Hendrix writing killer openings. I always loved that psychedelic backwards stuff that opens "Are You Experienced".
  10. Welcome to the VC! Love the song that is your namesake btw. Ever heard Uncle Tupelo's version? Pretty sweet.
  11. I'm partial to Brian Auger's (and the Oblivion Express) version of that song.
  12. Yeah, I got 'em. The stuff with Hamza El-Din is really good, but that was not a very good time in GD-Land for the most part. The DVD is excellent, though.
  13. Never got to see Mott live, but I did get to see (and meet) Ian and Mick Ronson in the late '80s. They did quite a bit of the Mott catalogue, along with much of the very fine "You're Never Alone With A Schizophrenic" LP that Mick played on. Very nice guys. Great, great band.
  14. AND.... Freeway Jam Goin' Down (one of my favorite solos EVER) Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (one of my fave covers EVER) Definitely Maybe Rice Pudding many many others.
  15. Mama stroked his dinger Daddy got a sticky finger In those days of long ago-o (Yeah) Later in the evening He'd refrain, she'd complain He'd go home and hone his bo-one
  16. Tony Iommi's opening riff on "Symptom of the Universe" is the wickedest, most evil-sounding intro evah.
