Wilcoclub videos taken down by YouTube......
mastershake replied to Sparky speaks's topic in Just A Fan
don't blame google - it is just another one of the bad things about wilco being on a major label. these companies wonder why they are losing so much money... honestly i don't think they'll ever wake up. you can't treat fans like this and expect business to carry on as usual. -
wayne's just a little crazy, that's all

just noticed this lyric the other day in the magpie song: Come on sorrow, take your own advice Hide under the bed, turn out the lights doesn't have the emotion when you just read it on the page, but when she sings it - awesome. for some reason it reminds me of something jeff would write, personifying sorrow as a rational (or perhaps irrational) being. i think magpie in the morning is one of the most impressive songs she's ever created. those lines get in your head and stay in there all day. lyrically it's full of imagery and allusions... definitely a shining point for her artistically.

it is the most impressive thing she's done, easily in terms of vocal range and skill. the backup vocals are also a step above what she's recorded in her previous albums. i'm also quite digging the whole theme of the album, it isn't just a collection of songs like blacklisted was and confessor. all of these songs contribute to the themes of nature and humanity and love. we are simply products of nature and will return to the earth when we die. she is crying out against the idea that humans are special just because we say we are. nothing new to be sure, this stuff has been dealt with in p

i dunno if this has been posted, but the entire album is streaming for free at npr, or at least will be for another day before it releases. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=100826714 seriously - one hell of an album. best thing i've heard in a year and a half. better than fox confessor, possibly better than blacklisted. she's the complete package these days - being just as impressive with the instruments and arrangements as she is with her voice.

damn finally heard this cd (listened to it about 20 times already) in full on npr - wow unbelievable. i'm going to easily say this album is better than anything released in 2008 (one of the weakest years for music in a long time). this is an album that i'd pay $50 for. neko has really outdone herself. only bad part of the entire album is the last track, but i guess i've come to accept that all musical geniuses have their eccentricities that sometimes make it onto albums... jeff did something similar with ghost is born.

ok the single off this album - i downloaded from amazon the other day that is the best song i've heard in the last 2 or 3 years. the vocals on it are mesmerizing - every time i listen to it i pick up on something new. i'm really really hyped for this album now... can't wait for tuesday

i cried too, but not from being bored. "do me like that dog boss, do me like that dog" [paraphrased]

Wilco was probably deemed not famous enough to play the event.

The latest Ryan Adams thread
mastershake replied to Duck-Billed Catechist's topic in Someone Else's Song
i think he should get out of the scene for a while - he needs to do what bob dylan is doing now... releasing a new album every 5 years or so. let only the best songs get released. i think his work is great, but he does have a habit of mixing his great songs with his not so good songs and if he just released less material he'd have a lot more great albums. he's incredibly talented though to be able to write as much as he can, and some of his stuff is just pure genius. -
nickelback - rockstar nickelback - photograph i don't like Mayer, but he does get to fuck Jennifer Aniston so that's something there.

wow just another reason to check out this show... all my friend love it but i've never seen it.

lets see, classic albums made when jay was in the band - 3 classic albums made when jay was not in the band - 0 yep wilco is so much better without him. really, he had nothing to do with being there, summerteeth, or yankee hotel foxtrot. nels could have done it all and even better, right? give me a break...

haha what a joke... who exactly are they protecting removing these videos?

best song ever is bob dylans - it's alright ma (i'm only bleeding)

Wilco tells fans not to waste $$$ on their Blu Ray
mastershake replied to watchtower41's topic in Just A Fan
yeah this was my point, but i didn't know the specifics. one of the best parts about blu-ray is the better audio, but I think you only take advantage of that if you have a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound speaker system hooked up to your tv. considering i thought this dvd sounded great as is, i bet it would sound even more amazing on the blu-ray. -
i think the song is pretty good

Oh herro! I'm trying to learn how to play hallelujah by jeff buckley. here is the tab: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/jeff...ah_ver5_tab.htm I had a question for the more experienced guitar players out there. First of all, this song is played using a pick right and not just plucking with fingers? Secondly, if it is indeed played using a pick, then how do you play the second measure (playing what i guess turns out to be a A on the 1st string and a D# on the 3rd string (xxx3x0))? Do you use the pick to play one of the notes and finger the other note with your fingers or do you
