masters of war, blowin in the wind, don't think twice it's alright, i shall be free, etc. etc. what is not angry about those songs? it's not often that he says things like "i hope you die, and i hope your end comes soon" -
hopefully someone at the next benefit concert asks him to play this. i bet he just forgot that he wrote and sang this song.

i would pay $50 i would pay $100 to see wilco with jay bennett

well freewheelin' is probably his most politically charged album and angry album. but more than likely they went to allmusic.com and put the first album that has a check mark by it. btw what the fuck is r kelly's trapped in a closet doing on that list? -
bumping this thread... ol'prospector, did you ever figure this song out?

ok so listening to some recordings of jeff playing this solo, on one particular recording he mentions that he plays this in a different key because he refuses to buy a guitar that has a cut away... so i'm not much of a guitar/music theorist, but could someone get me started on converting this to the new key to make it a lot easier to play on acoustic?

first off, here's the tab pulled from the pinned thread: I'm a Wheel - acoustic version tabbed by: The Dude, also thanks to Yo La Tengo & WilcoFan Drop D (DADGBE) then put a capo on the 2nd fret. All finger positions in relation to the capo. Strum hard, esp. the lower two strings. Hold on, you run the risk of exciting me. according to wilcobase, wilco last played it in 1995. i wonder why jeff doesn't occasionally play it solo.

i think this is a great idea. if it's true that with most record labels, the band only receives 10 to 15% of each album sale, and the record label gets the other 85%, then i would think radiohead would make way more money with this scheme than they would going through a major label. anyone who downloads the album for free is more than likely someone who either a. doesn't like the band that much or has never heard them, or b. someone who would have downloaded the leaked album for free anyway. most fans will pay at least something, and if that amounts to an average of $5 then the band itself

i can't even get on radiohead.com

what the hell are they waiting for on releasing the rest of the tracks. i know there has to be at least 4 or 5 more.

whoops i just saw another thread about this MY BAD!!! -
i don't think it's a good idea... only because everytime i go out for karoake some jackass sings that song and it is also featured in that stupid karoake game. i'm sick of hearing it.

wow sounds like you got a completely different experience from what i got at acl. i got a gravely voiced dylan that sounded so unbearably terrible that i had to leave. his voice took away anything the music had to offer.

wow you are right. i just never get to hear it i guess.

i do sometimes wish jay bennett was still in the band -
wow what a setlist. looks like they have finally started paying attention to all the bitching that was being done on this forum

it was hot as fuck, but for the most part the festival was very entertaining. first day: i started with pete yorn. he was a decent act, covered a peter bjorn and john song (young folks), which was odd because they played immediately after him. i then went to peter bjorn and john who sounded good but the first half of their set was filled with their slow songs. they didn't start to pick it up until i was already leaving walking over to catch the last part of blonde redhead. I then watched joss stone from underneath a tree, and i was really impressed her. she sounded really good, and the

cool thanks. do you know if that little walkup riff is correct on gumbo pages? i guess it sounds ok. they tab it: G* b |0 2 3 4 g | d |1 2 3 4

the last 15 minutes of this set made my weekend. absolutely awesome, i really never thought i'd be at a wilco concert when they played red eyed & blue and got you (at the end of the century). i was so happy. wilco absolutely rocked. i was about to write them off during the middle of their set as they were playing the same ole same ole i've always heard. but then comes via chicago (which i've never been lucky enough to hear live), then too far apart, and then that last 15 minutes. and unlike some people here, i loved hearing i'm the man who loves you... still my favorite wilco song, s
