  1. so nels is a pretty huge hardass
  2. yeah i wish he would have gave credit where credit is due, but i think he turned in a fine set of rockin tunskies for the most part.
  3. yea i am not a huge fan of the first album, but they sound a lot more compact in this effort.
  4. haha i guess my standards and everybody else's in the world are "low" http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/dy...s?q=bob%20dylan as for the black keys, they are great but they can't compare with the emotion dylan puts into his music. just read the lyrics to spirit on the water or workingman blues #2... there is nothing comparable in the black keys catalog.
  5. pitchfork hasn't been any different in their attitude toward wilco. they gave summerteeth a 9 something and yankee hotel foxtrot a 10... that alone will make them giddy over a band no matter what they release afterward (exception - and you will know us by the trail of dead). i expect they give sbs a 5... it's just not on par with with what tweedy and co. are capable of. i'm waiting for another live cd to hear how these songs should really sound.
  6. http://www.metacritic.com/music/artists/wilco/skybluesky under the radar says it sucks
  7. I loved this album from the first listen. Arctic Monkeys haven't skipped a beat from their previous album.
  8. i'd go as far as to say modern times was the best album released last year... i couldn't get enough of it.
  9. if i was going to pick a dylan song to put on that list, i'd put masters of war, or the times they are a-changin'
  10. OK Computer Kid A The Bends Amnesiac Hail to the Thief Pablo Honey
  11. i like bottle of buckie a lot as for it sounding like some goo goo dolls song.... i can't even name a goo goo dolls song aside of Iris. i guess i'm happy i don't listen to the radio or this song might be ruined for me.
  12. it's been a while since either Morrisey or B and S have written something as catchy as Start of Something emusic has all the EPs
  13. so.... has anyone figured out any more of this song? particularly nels solo
  14. I managed to download half the album using the hype machine. I like what i've heard so far. Firecracker is a GREAT song. Any thoughts on the entire album?
  15. Something just doesn't sound right to me with this stream. Jeff's voice is too blurry and low volume in parts, Nel's solos aren't very crisp sounding in places, particularly the climax of Impossible Germany. Jeff's part in IG around the 4:20 mark should be way louder in imo. Right now SBS sounds like an album that hasn't been mixed very well. I'm hoping the cd quality will fix these problems and improve this cd, but as of right now I can't really get into it. In other news... bought Arcade Fire's new album today and it was the first time I had heard that. That album is magnificent.
  16. i'd say modest mouse and arcade fire and radiohead and my morning jacket and flaming lips (though last album was a dud) and spoon and ted leo
  17. i really thought they'd leave the link up for longer than 4 hours... or else i would have never closed quicktime
  18. it will last as long as you don't close quicktime.. i closed quick time and the link is gone from wilcoweb
  19. wilco took the stream down or else i would
  20. you've listened to it, what, maybe 2 or 3 times?
  21. anyone want to pm me a link of this... preferably the version that doesn't have all the AIM beeps laced throughout the songs?
