  1. More like a Carmen Miranda fruit basket-type deal.
  2. These "Dutch visitors" seem to be more like permanent residents of your home now. Missed the Warren Haynes/Symphony tribute to Garcia last night at Red Rocks and will miss Dylan/Wilco tonight. Can't catch 'em all....
  3. I think a boonie is more like what Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf wore in the Gulf War.
  4. She sounded good (she does have a great voice, and all) on a lot of the harmonizing parts she was involved in. The "Playing" and "Scarlet" crap though doesn't do it for me. Cringe-worthy and detracts from the tune(s) imo. Still, my favorite era of Donna was late of '78 when she finally had to leave the tour due to being pregnant.....
  5. How is that a "good time?"
  6. Really taking a shine to these guys and looking forward to catching them out here in a few weeks.....
  7. I'm only seeing the cd on Amazon (for $33.70), not the cd/dvd combo that cduniverse lists.....
  8. Parrish's book won't win any writing awards but it was entertaining. A lot of machismo/bragging but what else would one expect? Chatted with him briefly at a MoonAlice event a few weeks ago. Affable guy.
  9. Steve Earle and The Dukes
  10. Interesting, regarding Cornell '77: http://www.openculture.com/2013/07/the-grateful-deads-ultimate-bootleg-now-online.html
  11. I love the imperfections, actually, and find them endearing. To each his own and all that jazz, but I seldom "notice" the imperfections as actual imperfections, but merely part of the experience. I don't think I've ever thought of any tune/mistake/excerpt/or show as atrocious, save for the Wharf Rat at Giants Stadium in '95 that pushed me to stop going to shows (even though he died soon after).....
  12. Dave's Picks Vol. 7: http://www.dead.net/store/1970s/daves-picks-volume-7-horton-field-house-illinois-state-42478?eml=dead/070813/dp7banner Good show, but have a sbd already......
  13. Cool, I'll look into it.....
  14. This week's Weir Here featuring MoonAlice: https://www.tristudios.com/events/weir-here-bob-weir-moonalice-and-fog
  15. I got in a brief yet tedious talk with my gal last night about how/why when I said the only Star Wars movie I've ever seen was the original one at the theatre in '77 or whenever it came out. I referred to it as "the first one" to which she kept telling me it actually isn't. Freaks.
  16. Splurge? Egg yolks? Who am I, Andrew Carnegie?!!
  17. It was a great and exciting Cup series, and although I root for Boston, this is pretty classy: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/chi-hawks-thanks-bruins-20130628,0,6246683.story
  18. Nobody really knows what Dad Rock is, lamrod. It's just a mysterious phrase that seems to spark inane discussions. I DO know that Kid Rock gets little respect around here, though.
  19. You and PopTodd should have a dance-off at it.....
