People get busted all the time at concerts for stupid drug shit. I don't think the amount is abnormal for a 3-day run. I don't think it affects Red Rocks, either. I've yet to hear of violence/rioting/destruction happening at the shows, which is the much bigger issue.

Last night the g/f's ex burned us the first Hampton night. Sound's fantastic and yeah, the Loving Cup is excellent, too. Here's a hand-held camera phone of "First Tube" that doesn't do justice but might be worth a peek to some of you:

You should try the above mentioned, Moss. I probably should have listed The Sun....in my top 5, as well. An excellent book that is also a fairly quick read. I read that book in high school one time and it still leaves a favorable impression on me.

The "Deal" from the following night is insane. There's a guitar note towards the end of the jam that just hangs that always gets me.

Big Black Furry...?

I was watching some of it on MLB Network, and prior to it they did a piece on Manny and his swing with some excellent old footage of his high school and Minor league days up to the present. His center of gravity/balance is impressive as is the consistency he's had throughout his career in his swing with very slight adjustments.

^ My favorite issue of each year. And yes, over the Swimsuit Issue. Bummer. Had this happened a few years ago he may have been able to bounce back in a couple weeks.

Peaches & Herb's "Reunited" to open.

Ditto. I love Sticky Fingers and Some Girls and almost went with Some Girls as it's the album I can listen to through-and-through the most without skipping tracks (there are some clunkers on both Exile and Sticky, imo) but the amount of tunes that blow me away on it are too strong to ignore. However, "Moonlight Mile" is probably the best tune they wrote (imo) but it can't, alone, take the place of Exile's collective power.

Wow. That's great Moss. I'm glad for you. That would blow my mind having that much money to shop for books. Amazing.

Cheers to you, man

Typical local news reporting, but you'll get the gist. Four-night run with a lot of chaos: If the Red Rocks goes down I do believe mountain bed has a hat to eat, too.

This isn't the article I was searching for but is excellent none the less in outlining how MLB players aree actually underpaid. The article I wanted goes into similar detail but is a few years older than this one: http://www.bnet.com/2403-13502_23-210690.html

Ugh. That's lame and harsh.

I got word last night that the Dead did their best to keep ticket prices lower than they actually are. Went to bat to gripe about the prices, actually. It ain't their collective fault. It is what it is, unfortunately. Yeah, I'll be at that Denver show. Not sure how, yet.

How about them pics of the Gener cooking his sauce? Am I right, folks?

That Manny offer is pretty much the same one he and Boras rejected. It's re-worded a little differently, so maybe he;ll bite. re:Pedro The single greatest pitcher ever over a 3-4 year period, in my opinion. Now? Time to hang up the cleats, I think.

Plus, they've gotten to be better musicians over the years. Different from when they started out, for sure. They take themselves seriously and can play their instrument well.

I always like to put a finger on top of my head and spin around in a circle while doing a little jig during the carnival music part in "Roses are Free."

All true. Chocolate and Cheese is a classic, too.

One of my favorite version of "Visions" they ever did (there's one a little more magical but I'm forgetting where it's from right now):

Ween are awesome. Not sure about the Gener band, though. Never heard the stuff. And: I wonder if Todd's Place (in New Haven) is anything like Toad's Place (in New Haven).

And to think Kimock just couldn't mesh with him speaks volumes of Kimock, imo. He's known as kind of a prick around here (he plays here a lot).
