Oops. Must have thinkin' Martin Scorcese.
-
And sent to jail immediately where they can't get treatment, but ironically, can score more drugs pretty easily. Problem solved.

Martin Scutaro with a nice at-bat against Fruitbat in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, jacks a three-run homer to win it. That was an exciting at-bat to watch.
-
Precisely.
-
Unfortunately I think he had a few other things in there, too.

I say give anyone caught with personal use of heroin for the first time an opportunity to get professional help in a rehab and straighten out before being sent to the clink. He's not selling it and obviously has a problem. Do you advocate giving jail time for someone caught with pills, pot, other illegal substances the first time (who's not dealing it)?

I certainly don't anticipate it becoming a trend. He hadn't pitched since Sunday or Monday and he was the best guy for the situation in the 8th tonight.
-
I was wondering that too, and I'd have to guess "yes" as he got Vlad and Anderson out with only 6 pitches.
-
I know Mark Mulder pitched one against Clemens (with Houston) a couple years ago (2005 I think). It was a shutout, too.
-
I'll stand by CCR, Chronicles Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Also, Genius, The Best of Warren Zevon. The Essential Johnny Cash The Essential Kris Kristofferson.

Sox tacking on 6 runs to a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the same inning ensured Papelbon to have effectively done the job, and Timlin closes in the 9th. A good use of the closer in a situation cited earlier in this thread, though there are still plenty of managers who would not have made the move to put Papelbon in to clean out the heavy hitters in the 8th.

(There was one out, actually). Facing Vlad. Throwing all fastballs, gets him out on a 97 mph pitch. Out of the 8th with only six pitches.

Hey, anybody up for debating the term "guilty pleasures?" Eh? Eh?! O.k. -
May I introduce the newest Wilco fan......

My three young boys will be patiently waiting for about 20 years for some phone calls from a certain family's three young ladies. -

Congratulations to the entire Q23 family! -
How do these guys get their lives back?

If I were a real man I'd change my name to Poly Gamy. Douchebags or not (because really, does it even matter?), the stripper who started all this should have to pay the legal fees incurred to defend against false allegations. Maybe the Sharpton/Jackson camp can help cover the damages for her. -
The Eyes Adrift album is pretty good. I've got some solo Curt on discs that I'll need to transfer to my iTunes. Unfortunately, on Derrick Bostrom's website, (that had a bunch of great MP shows going back to '85 up to '99, which was in large a forum for MP tunes/discussion), he was forced to remove the shows due to new licensing fees being forced upon him. There were several 2000-20003/4 Curt shows as well. I was able to get a bunch of the MP shows, too. Here's an "Up On the Sun" from a solo Curt show from 2001. Obviously a bit more demure than with the whole band, but...: http://www.yousendi

You know, I've heard some of Curt's solo stuff from the last few years and save for the fact that it's him solo acoustic, it's real true to the MP's roots. I think with a sober Cris it'll be great. The tix will be on the cheap side, too, (I'm assuming) as it's all club shows. Just my 2 cents.

I know there are a few fans around here, so: The Pups have a new album coming out soon ( Rise To Your Knees) and will hit the road for the first time in a bunch of years. Derrick Bostrom will not be drumming with them, however (bummer). But, the brothers are back. They've announced only a few shows so far (west coast and my neck of the woods) but will be adding more. One of the best shows I've ever seen and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how they've held up: http://www.livedaily.com/reviews/Meat_Pupp...85.html?t=11990

I've still yet to try this. All I've heard is great things about it. It's a Maryland/Delaware brew, correct?

Deadeye Dick is a great book. That's all I've got.

When did being white an having money become such a bad thing? And will Sharpton be making a public apology?
