I've seen that pic before. A little known fact about the picture is that just moments earlier, Jeff and Jay had been breast feeding off of the giant. True story.

The instrumental part sounds a bit like her tune "Oh Babe It Ain't No Lie," (that the Dead covered) but the lyrics don't fit the song.

Or ball, as it were. -
Hunh. I was pleasantly surprised by KK. I thought his voice was huskily well-aged and sootheing. I had never seen him live before and dug it. Besides JT, my third favorite act (behind Assembly of Dust on Sun.).

See the "After the Show" section....

A fantastic show at a fantastic venue with fantastically good vibes. I drove up on Fri. evening after work to meet up with my wife and kids and friends. The first person I bumped into once in the venue was JT, who was doing some shopping in a small booth with another guy. I gave him a quick handshake and a "thanks" and split. He was able to amble around the crowd with little/no hassles( from the brief few times I saw him shopping/eating, at least). The set was really nice with pristine sound under the stars on a cool and clear night. JT seemed in a good mood and was his typically witty self

Agreed. There was something very magical about the way JG did that tune. Top-notch all the way and very moving, emotional, and heartfelt.

Exactly. Plus, Hinske can help give some needed rest to both Mike Lowell and Kevin Youkilis. This could be a good move if Theo is thinking Lowell might not last the entire season and/or dumping Lowell next season. -
That's a good one. The creep definitely is joslted in the head. He may know what happened and perhaps even been a peripheral party to the crime but from what we've gotten from the media it doesn't sound like his "confession" adds up.

Thanks, man. And for anyone looking to meet up, I'll be wearing your traditional muu muu and fruit-basket hat ensemble.

An arrest has been made in the JonBenet Ramsey case, and it wasn't a family member: http://edition.cnn.com/2006/LAW/08/16/ramsey.arrest/ I lived about 2 miles from where it took place at the time of the murder. It was surreal all the speculation going around the Boulder community back then.

A pitcher, unknowingly, tips the hitter off to what pitch he's about to throw during his set-up/wind-up/delivery. This is usually caught by an astute opposing manager/bench coach/player and often involves slight dips in glove position or hand placement while setting up. The pitcher obviously has no idea he's doing it and a good pitching coach should catch it early to warn his pitcher and correct the problem. It happens fairly frequently to pitchers throughout the season. -
The whole "bit" last night during the broadcast was cringe-worthy, and not because of any supposed sensitivity issues. Leary wasn't too bad, but Lenny Clarke was unbearably annoying: non-stop prattling with inane jokes. To be fair to him, I couldn't audibly understand most of what was spewing from his jowels.

But the basis for it being called a hit by the official scorer is that even if WMP had caught the ball, the runner on third would most likely have scored. The benefit of the doubt always goes to the batter, too. Also, WMP gets credit for a put-out for nailing Monroe off first base. BTW, had Monroe not given up half-way down the baseline to 1st he'd probably have made it to 2nd base, but certainly would not have rounded 1st too far to make up for his jog to 1st. Polanco is out for the season with a separated shoulder. Too bad, it was a helluva catch. The Red Sox look atrocious these days. -
