Via Chicago's Top 100 Albums of All Time: Summer 2008 edition
chanman1128 replied to gogo's topic in Someone Else's Song
I have been saying this for years... I am 21 and Soup is one of my all time favorite albums, they would have gone on to do unbelievable things if Shannon Hoon didn't die. :-( -
I'll be there, last time i saw the Spinners there was a pitching thing that told you7 how fast you throw, if that thing is open, ill be hitting that up before the show.

Jesus was not mentioned a crazy amount of time, i remember hearing it two or three times, and i was actually surprised to hear it, the song did not SOUND like it was very religious, i dont think it was about jesus, but i could be wrong. def not either of these

nope, it sounds more like regina than that...sorry.
-
this sounds very promising, im thinking we are hearing the same song. no...that isn't the right sound, the song i heard is much more poppy and pianoish.
-

-
not sure if it was in the chorus, it was right before the chorus came in. ill check it out.

I know 1234...agh...you know, i have searched radio stations that it could have been...it could have been a schools radio station, i live in amherst so it is possible it was a umass, smith, or amherst college radio....it could have been obscure, but it really sounded like it was something popular...I am at a loss, hopefully i hear it again someday...again, thanks for trying, this sucks! Edit: I can't remember the radio station either...i am an idiot.
-
nah it isnt that one either...i feel really bad...not nearly enough info for you guys to figure it out...sorry. If you guys hear anything in passing that could be it, let me know! More observations: it sounds A LOT more like regina spektor than that diana birch song. Also, when I listened to it the first time I was almost surprised to hear the mention of jesus, i dont think it is an extremely religious song...but again, i cant remember any of the damn lyrics.
-
haha thanks for trying!! It started off just kind of wanting to know what song it was, and now that I can't find out, I NEED TO KNOW! It is killing me, when I heard it on the radio, I said to myself, "I am going to remember these lyrics"...great try chanman It sounded like it would be pretty popular, but I got nothing. I'm pretty sure it is contemporary... it might be an obscure indie girl, but I just don't know, if any of you guys find anything, let me know... thanks again for trying...

poor chanman

Nope, that is not it... I actually listened to laughing with and it was pretty lame, not a fan.

Okay, so after endless searches through pandora, last.fm, and various search engines, I am in no luck. I have done this a few times here before, and you guys usually have a knack for knowing what songs I am talking about, but this one might be a reach... I heard it on the radio and it sounds just like regina spektor (to me anyways)...from what I remember: the beginning is acapella. the chorus or the bridge contains the word jesus. it sounds just like regina spektor. I THINK it is just vocals and a piano, if it isnt just a piano i know that there aren't a lot of other instruments. I am r

Bits and pieces, pleasures and disappointments
chanman1128 replied to Ghost of Electricity's topic in Just A Fan
I agree a lot with some of you, I disagree with some of you also... Negative: I can't stand I'll Fight, and I just am not really feeling One Wing that much. You and I and You Never Know are very 'meh', nothing too special. Positive: Really love Deeper Down, Solitaire, Everlasting, Sonny Feeling. I like BBN a lot, don't think I like it is as much as you guys yet though (the song) is so catchy, i really like it, even if it is a little goofy. I am hating all of this hate for Country Disappeared! I instantly loved it and is currently one of my favorite tracks. Overall I like it a lot. -
1. Ashes Of American Flags 2. Pot Kettle Black 3. She's A Jar

I'll fight is like On and On and On part 2...which is not a good thing for me. I really like most of it on first listen Country Disappeared and Everlasting are the best TO ME...SO FAR. Like Solitaire a lot, and I have been singing WIlco the song all day. I like most of the songs here...already miles better than SBS...sorry
