The Official Bob Dylan Thread
Gobias Industries replied to RainDogToo's topic in Someone Else's Song
"6/5" I am psyched for the new record though, I loves me some Dylan. -
Jenna Fischer is a world class fox. Hot damn.

The whole bit is that basically regardless of whether it's drop D or DADADE, it's not really that much of a problem because it's pretty much all power chords utilizing the bottom two (or three) strings, DAD. I'll still go ahead and change it, though.

Opinions? Super awkward with Pam trying to take over the lecture (the new Pam is interesting...don't know if I like it as much as old Pam), but there were some good moments. The Angela cat-licking was by far the best moment.

This is what I call a return to form. My favorite part was with Jim and Dwight trying to prepare a party.

Also, Tom Verlaine's stuff with Television on the Marquee Moon record is epic.

George Harrison basically any time. John Lennon and Paul McCartney had some good tones working too. Also, Eric Clapton has some mean tone, the example I can think of is off of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"...that tone is epic and I love it. Also, Robbie Robertson has this unique tone that I dig.

Does anyone honestly listen to A.M.

I just finished listening to the whole entire record. It's probably the Wilco record I listen to the most now. -
Worst Cover Ever: MCR & Desolation Row
Gobias Industries replied to anthony's topic in Someone Else's Song
Any cover of Desolation Row less than 10 minutes long is not Desolation Row. -
After more thought, perhaps the pirated movie parts are supposed to serve as an allegory to the plight of Andy? I mean, the way he reacted to the cheesy "Reverse the button!" segment implies that Andy identifies with Jack Black's character. Of course, I'm not insightful enough to be a movie critic. This doesn't redeem the plot from being fairly (or entirely) worthless to the average Office-goer, but perhaps it means something more. Can we get a movie guru to chime in on this?

The episode really would have been the best ever without the film guru subplot. It really didn't add anything to the story. I've only seen one or two of the deleted scenes, and they seriously would have fit better. To be honest, it felt like they were forced to include these guest stars and it was the only way to do so.

I've heard Bob Dylan and Will I Am are singing about Pepsi...in the same commercial. What is this world coming to? True that.

"Hey, Stephen, am I wearing this 'Vote McCain' shirt out of irony or am I really serious?"

Bodes well for me, man.

Yeah, that's just a terrible review. It sounds like from the start that the guy hates Andrew Bird's guts and is using it as a crutch for dismantling the album. While Noble Beast isn't, say, an amazing record, it's not like it's worse than Coldplay...

Been listening through on NPR, then on an impulse I just bought the album today. So far haven't listened through the whole thing closely, but damn, "My Girls" is likely the best track of 2009, no joke. And this is coming from a guy who's never been really into Animal Collective.

Rule #4: Never read the first post in a thread. The only post that matters is the second. Also, Two Headed Boy Pt. Two.
