I would be more inclined to be all "OHIO STATE!!!" but I saw this clip and I'm scared as shit. Keep Jahvid Best and co. in your thoughts and prayers (if that's your M.O.):

Who are Wilco's musical influences?
Gobias Industries replied to Shining Sunbeam's topic in Just A Fan
A lot of Wilco also traces back to Big Star (via the Replacements or otherwise). -

It could be a Zemaitis guitar, but I haven't seen the Tweedster with that recently.

One of the best albums. Ever.

Monster of Folk on Kimmel tonight?
Gobias Industries replied to sonicshoulder's topic in Someone Else's Song
I've never liked Jim James with reverb, not gonna lie. The whole "Help! I'm trapped in the bottom of a well and I can't get out!...ladies." shtick has never sat well with me. Which is why I can't get into MMJ and I still think Jim James' version of "Goin' to Acapulco" on the I'm Not There soundtrack might be the best thing ever. edit: but about MoF, I thought the arrangement was swell, but I didn't notice the harmonies getting messed up until the second time around hearing it...the out-of-tune-ness was totally noticeable. I liked the choice though, you don't have to play upbeat tunes all -

SES unplugged must have been awesome. I'm jealous.

Yeah. Spikes should be gone for AT LEAST A GAME if Meyer wants to send a good message. Play fair, this is college fucking sports. Apparently playing football is not as gentlemanly as it once was. Shows where Meyer's head is at.

So I put on the Beatles yesterday when I wasn't in such a stellar mood, and within, like, 3 notes I was instantly super happy again. I fucking love the Beatles.

Saw Weezer on Letterman tonight...
Gobias Industries replied to Sweet Papa Crimbo's topic in Someone Else's Song
This is the only way I can take today's (not) Weezer. It's like closing your eyes and taking it. -
"Listen to Wilco on my terms."

Suffice to say, I am on a kick of all things centered around VU. VU, John Cale, Lou Reed, the works.

I consider YHF my 4th favorite Wilco record. That said, it's probably because YHF is really hard for me to put on without getting all weird, so I don't put it on too often.

Sorry, guys, I'd left the hammer in me garage, but I got it! Here it is:
