Trip to the Electric Fetus. Lots of cool restaurants in bars in uptown Minneapolis. The sculpture museum, the Walker Art Museum, the Minnesota Institute of Arts. Duluth is a fun old lake town. Grandmas is a fun place to eat a meal a drink a few beers.

Did you check the link? It's an NPR stream. Not great quality, but darned good and completely legitimate.

There was incredible tension built through the dialogue in that opening. I also noticed the milk glowed like Marcellus Wallace's briefcase.

That's a good doggy!

The man has better chops than that, but he has decided to appeal to the masses as much as possible. He wants to be an idol more than an artist. I think he could have chosen a different path, but didn't.

Perfect review. Couldn't agree more.

Good answer!

I think that would've gotten wider media coverage had Bush, Jr. or Quayle said it.

You provide a lot more explanation for your opinion here. We all use feelings to form opinions to one degree or another, but I didn't see anything beyond that till this post. Will this destroy the U.S. economy? No. Will it help or hurt? I guess we'll probably find out soon enough. -

It seems like your opinion is based more on feelings than facts. My main argument is that if taxes and regulations lower employment and / or send significant numbers of jobs overseas, then they are onerous. I am not sure if this new health bill rises to that standard, but it seems to me to be a stronger standard than "I personally think these taxes are too high." Without much thought of their effect to the overall economy. -

Let me make sure I understand your logic. If you don't think taxes and regulations are onerous, then they are not; even if they are driving businesses to shut their doors or move their operations overseas. It is the fault of the business owners for having crappy business plans. If they think the taxes and regulations are onerous, they must be wrong because you are right. This may sound condescending, I apologize if it does. Maybe there is something I am missing in your posts. -
Wow! That is the stupidest jazz album cover I've ever seen, at least for traditional jazz. Some great performers on that record, but it looks like it should have the Monster Mash on it.

I don't believe I quoted you at all, Speed Racer. Just trying to figure out how much the government can drive up costs before you move responsibility of failure to the high cost of government regulation instead of a poor business plan. I think we're kind of in agreement of the effects of globalization. I just wonder (and I really don't know, I'm a public school teacher, not an entrepreneur or small business owner or employee for one of them) if these regulations stifle what could be better job growth here in the US. What's a better scenario: 3% unemployment, but millions of those who are -
Hmmm... 1. I saw Grant Hart w/ a crowd of about a dozen. His voice is amazing. The Husker Du recordings just doesn't do it justice. 2. A family festival with Dan Zanes and Justin Roberts. It was incredible fun to watch my kids enjoy some really good music and meet the artists the love afterwards. 3. Ralph's World. Another cool family musician. Someday I'll go to another grown up concert.

So the government is can stack up any level of expensive regulation?? Like it or not, in today's world, companies who find the cost of employing people in the US too expensive have plenty of other options. Is that the business model you prefer? -

Maybe it's all they can afford because they are expected to (or maybe soon required to) provide medical insurance. -

Here's the difference: Big Corporations have the overhead to have a staff of lawyers on hand who can read and react to new regulations. -

I hear you, Jules. But how do we compete with 3rd world countries where the standard of living is a tiny percentage of ours? On a semi-related note, I remember hearing a story about 4 years ago about how GM ought to be one of the strongest advocates for a single-payer health care system. Many of the competitors come from nations that have it and one statistic cited in the story was that GM spends more $$ per vehicle in health care costs (for employees AND retirees) than they do for steel in the car. I'm not saying I think single-payer is the best system for this country; there are many
