  1. I know you weren't asking me, but I'll chime in too. I really liked Cloudsplitter. Not an easy read, but very satisfying. To me, it was interesting getting in the head of someone willing to commit horribly immoral acts (terrorism, basically) to stop a worse immoral act (slavery). There was also lots of fun father/son issues. It wouldn't be Russell Banks w/o that.
  2. Yeah, GON may have taken it a bit far to say he justified the attack. I'm not going to take the time to explore it right now. But the man is definitely a tool. Sorry rest of USA.
  3. Wilco is lame to, like 99.99999% of teenagers.
  4. I've decided that MB and I agree about everything except politics! edit: oooh... that and hard liquor!
  5. I really dug them at the Riviera during the residency (night 2, over 2 years now).
  6. About 2 years ago, we stocked them at the Borders where I work. Never remember any selling any and haven't seen them in a long time. I liked them when I was a kid.
  7. Hell is Chrome. Lennon singing. In fact it may have been better for the Plastic Ono Band.
  8. Jim Beam black label is a bit smoother and more complex than regular Jim Beam. It's also a lot cheaper than Makers, Basil Hayden, et al. Not as good, but much more value for the flavor.
  9. Balvenie 12 or 15 (esp. 15, of course) is excellent. Iowa is producing one of the finest rye whiskeys available. Hard to come by as it's hard to judge demand years out.
  10. Loved watching those S. Koreans take each other out to let Ohno and the other American get medals.
  11. Nah, too risky. The NFL would fear another wardrobe malfunction or same sex kissing/grinding.
  12. I'm going to give up reading the Frozen Wasteland thread.
  13. Steely Dan doesn't RAWK! REM, they wouldn't do it. Coldplay certainly would and bring in a lot more females, so that makes commercial sense. Mellencamp makes sense. I can't imagine Dylan saying yes. Queen w/ Paul Rodgers makes some sense. AC/DC?
