  1. Sue has brought so much great music my way, from the Lounge Ax days of seeing bands like Red Red Meat, Glue, Yo La Tengo, monsieur Tweedy and others, to working hard on spectacular benefits in Chicago. I have to believe that only the best is her due.
  2. We were seated right up front by the hostess, but we paid the $300 price. Jeff usually (playfully) blames the audience for the set list when they pick it, so I bet he put that together. By the end, he was soliciting for tunes, hence Pecan Pie and Jesus Etc. I though the best part of the back-and-forth was his story about the moile and guy trying to interact who was just not up to the task. I believe Jeff referred to him as Himmler at one point. Pretty funny
  3. Sorry Wendy and Brianne. That's terrible news. But safety first. I'm about 4 miles away and worried about heading out. We'll have to catch up at the Valentines Day shows.
  4. Haven't heard anything different so I suppose the concert and comedy show for tonight is still on? Anyone hear differently?

  6. I was up front and aside from the truly annoying flash photography, I was surpirsed by the amount video being taken. In the past Jeff disarmed the videographers with a well chosen, direct line or two. I did tell the gal next to me that Wilco asks its fans not to video performances, but she just looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. Oh well, I tired.
  7. Some random observations Great great show last night... guitars were all tuned up and really great playing and singing. Wonderful to hear Blasting Fonda, Please Tell My Brother, and Passenger side. Loved hearing Country Disappeared and Art of Almost acoustically. I love hearing the newer songs done in a raw state. I "get" them better that way, I guess. Agree with you on the flash photography. Was up front and both nights the guy behind me had the flash going as well as the fake camera sound, volume to 11, with each shot. Ugh. Oh, and fun to see Spencer and Sam hawking the T-shirts. The
  8. Hi Folks, Was lucky enough to get tickets to the 3/13, 3/14 2013 Scholarship benefits shows at the Vic, but was hoping someone had an extra Gold Circle ticket for either night. Message me if you have an extra. Thanks! Geoff
  9. Still have them available... text me at 312 305 6421 if you can use them
  10. Have two ADULT section tix for Saturday, 3/31/12 at the Vic, $115 for both of them (cost was 58.66 each, but $115 is easy math). Let me know if you want 'em.
  11. Tickets still available. Just got 2 for each night. Ya. Hoo!
  12. Had to be out in Las Vegas for 10 days of work. Walking around an outdoor mall on the first day, after forgetting to pack some things. "Hate It Here" blaring from the speakers in the palms. Sweet justice.
  13. I would be in favor of attending the Lincoln Hall show. I'm old. I live near Lincoln Hall. No I didn't go to Metro and yes I went to bed early so I wouldn't have to think about not being able to get there. But I am what the kids call an optomist. If you've got one to spare or your last minute plans become unplanned, send me a note!

    Metro!

And in those days of the counting, a message went out from Via Chicago that all the members of Via Chicago should be taxed. And gathering their ticket stubs, they found one extra and the One with the extra appeared to Gewee and said "Be not afraid, I bring you news of great joy. Waiting at will call, swaddled in a credit card receipt, you will find an extra ticket for the Metro" And gewee was so afraid. But the One said, "Fear not. They will open with Ashes of American Flags, and play Dash 7 as a third encore." And the light of the Whole Love shone upon them.
  15. That was one helluva a show last night. My last one (unless Santa comes early) in Chicago for a while. I can't pick a favorite night since all 3 shows were great. As an old dude, and a long time Wilco fan, last night was the first time that I felt like an old dude at the show. Sad to say it but the crowd around me seemed very uptight and were not into the older tunes, a first for me. I guess I just woke up feeling old.... Enjoy the next two you lucky club goers...

    Metro!

Wow got lucky and found a Vic tik.... still looking for a Metro and Lincoln Hall ticket. In the words of my personal savior, George Michael, I gotta have faith.,..
  20. Less Than You Think as an opener was a good omen of a unpredictable night. So good
  21. Don't have a comprehensive set list, but let's start with the end... a three song encore starting off with Nick Lowe singing lead on "Cruel to Be Kind". Then an appearance by Ms. Mavis Staples, who sang "You're Not Alone" before leading to the finale with Nick coming back on stage for a great sing-along version of "The Weight" with Mavis taking the first two verses, Nick taking the third and Jeff taking the fourth. Great finale. Other highlights were "Candyfloss" with an operatic ending and "Outta Sight, Outta Mind" with a jingle bell theme during the solo. Some other crowd pleasers: "Box Fu
  22. They just released some more tickets at the box office, FYI. Too bad. I would have brought my daughter if I could have picked up a second one
  23. I was going to bring my 12 year old but could only get one seat. Another time, I guess.
