Basically, to keep it short and simple John Mayer sucks and Nels Cline is god. And can't we all just love one another expect John Mayer.
-
Thanks I will proabely start with TNT by ordering it at my local music store this friday because I do not think they have much Tortiose.
-
Neil Young is a great guitarist and so is Jeff Tweedy. They both create a sound to their solo that reflects the overall theme of the song, which to me is way more important than anything Eddie Van Halen creates.
-
Why not have some poetry while your at it. Might I suggest "Leaves of Grass," which would be great while on the road or you could read "Walden." for novels or as other have suggested "On The Road" which is my all time favorite book.
-
But they actually have a good ear for the Blues while John Mayer-as he displays in his music-has no idea about the blues. Tell him to listen Robert Johnson's "King Of The Delta Blues Singers Vol 1." then maybe he would actually have an idea of the blues. All he knows is Eric Clapton solo records which are shit. By the way Rolling Stones are great in with blues and country and so is Captain Beefheart. I just wanted to add that in.

I couldn't agree more. I love his playing on "Painful" especially his loud parts "I Heard You Looking" and even the softer parts "Nowhere Near."
-
I have always wanted to get into their discography, but I am not sure where to start? Any recommendations?

A great guitarist does not sell his soul, not unless your Robert Johnson. Besides, he still sucks I would have more love for him if he made a straight up blues record; instead, he makes shitty pop records that make young girls scream for his STDs.

John Mayer sucks. He is just as bad as Eric Clapton at selling his soul and creating bad mainstream "blues" music. My advice let his life be focused on dating Jessica Simpson so he does not have to make horrible records.

Nels Cline is god; of course, but I wonder if they have actually dove into his catalog because I think they just chose him because he is now in Wilco. While I did find Cline via Wilco and his contribution is amazing to Wilco's new and old catalog, I would hope they would look into his huge discography because it is great. Seriously, my jaw literally drop after listening to his interpreation of Coltrane's "Interstellar Space," I loved "Destroy All Nels Cline," "The Giant Pin" "Four guitars live" "New Monastery," and his contribution to The Geraldine Fibbers (I just got "Butch") and Mike Watt's

I'm having a problem with the FLAC files.
-
Can anyone you send it "Venus Stop The Train"
-
Does anyone know how to convert FLAC to an MPC or at least to get it to play on a computer.
-
I got it last week through order at my local music store, its really awesome and weird its: Jim O'Rourke "Terminal Pharamacy"
-
I should be there.
-
Jeff basically does do all the solos as the liner notes show it. He really is a great guitarist. With regards to his look, I do not really care; but I like how he looked like Bob Dylan circa "Nashville Skyline" at Lollapoolza with the beard and the hat.

I heard an article about Thax Douglas that was posted in the Chicago Tribune in August. If anyone has it, could they post it? Never Mind I found it.
-
So are The Byrds, but the Byrds rock, while The Eagles suck.
-
I love to play "James Alley Blues" "Yesterday" (an alterated version), "California Stars," "Stuck Inside A Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again," and "Life Goes Off" (Jim O'Rourke song that is awesome).
-
I am so pissed that I could not go.
-
rbally.net used to have "I Wanna Be Sedated" from Being There Tour, but it is has ended for the second tiime now. But I heard it once and it was really sweet especially when Tweedy yelled "Ha" at the fan of the song.

If you want a somewhat easy connection try picking a song from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. Your whole project can be about songs on America and you could almost any song from there as a refrence to America, but mainly the core three you can choose are "I Am Trying To Break Your Heart," "Ashes of American Flags," and "Reservations." Good Luck.

Charlottesville Review in the Richmond Times Dispatch
WaronWar replied to LouisvilleGreg's topic in Just A Fan
In general, this concert review is shit just because its scattered all over the place. -
I would be going to the show in Chicago today if it was not a 21+ show. I hate age limit shows.

That goes to Death Cab.
