speaking of the harp solo, here's what jeff had to say about on 6 Oct 2004 http://www.sendspace.com/file/a8kbva and here's the live debut of the song... 29 Oct 1997 (is it really punk rock?) http://www.sendspace.com/file/ofqw86

> and each one of those probably took 20 minutes to smoke. those things take forever! i've noticed that. the brand is hard to find down here, but if i see them i grab them. i'd go outside with my friend for a smoke and she'll finish in 6 minutes when i'm 3/4 through. she'll say i'm really slow and i'll tell her that 'i dont suck as much as she does'

sarabell, here's the link to wilcobase. lotsa nice stuff there http://www.wilcobase.com from memory, there were some shows in late 2004 where jeff would comment on how easy the harp part is. something along the lines of you "you can do it... all of you". might have been New york in october oh, and she says forever to light a fuse we could use

A place to whine and act peeved and put upon

i think i might crash the whole board if i reply to this thread -
funny, i'm just listening to Infidels now. Definately jokerman needs to be there i'd put Danville Girl above the Brownsville one. also, he did a cover of People get ready in 1989 for the natural born killers soundtrack. evenb though its a cover, the atmosphere is very "oh mercy"

it is from there and it is jeff seems to be singing. before it starts, he says "lets do an alternate version of HMD. this is more goth - a goth version of it"

post of the day! i shouldnt talk (department ball finished at midnight last night - fuck knows between then and 4am)

saw it back in 2003 with the full band. i was hoping for it before the show. i'd be one of those people that cheers when the G, D, B, G, A, B harmonica line comes in. its so simple, but effective with the rest of the song. just checked wilcobase, its been performed 276 times since 1997

> that song is called "Sugar Baby" its a traditional song that Jeff plays sometimes solo. I wish I could tell you more plus there's the recorded version with roger mcguinn

i love this one..

is it allowed to like the Doors cause of their songs, regardless of what/who Jim morrison is?. i dont consider him some sort of prophet or drunk, but i like the sound of their music and his voice... just asking

> There are a decent amount on songs on Tweedy's list on the BMI site that I have never heard of. link please?

eppy brzday no doubt at a wilco show now? thanks for all the show reports

changing of the guards is one of my favourite dylan tunes. i went back and listened to the original version of the album and muddy sound was quite nice after listening to the remastered one
-
loved it too.. i always thought a lot of the stuff had to be made up. for example, remembering the colour of cutrains 45 years ago, having a coffee at some obscure time and things like that hope volume 2 comes around eventually
-
i hope he'd do an acoustic solo album, with some new tunes and re-recordings of various songs he's done going back to uncle tupelo days

that Tweedy guy, 2 march 99

> in my opinion theres not one band that i actually consider to be 'similar' to wilco. maybe not, but there's obvious Beatles (sgt pepper & magical mystery tour, era) comparisons on Summerteeth.. and that aint a bad thing
