I come to you with empty hands I guess I just forgot again I only got my love to send On Valentine's Day I ain't got a card to sign Roses have been hard to find I only hope that you'll be mine On Valentine's Day I know that I swore that I wouldn't forget I wrote it all down: I lost it I guess There's so much I want to say But all the words just slip away The way you love me every day Is Valentine's Day If I could I would deliver to you Diamonds and gold; it's the least I can do So if you'll take my IOU I could make it up to you Until then I hope my heart will do For Valentine's Day

jenbobblehead replied to owl's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning

I heard this on the radio today and i kinda liked it. Found out they are actually FROM Providence. Looks like they have a pretty big tour in support of their new record coming out next week. I've not ever seen them live, but the songs i've heard so far are kind of promising. zox myspace

a serger is an overlock sewing machine, meaning that it not only cuts the fabric as it goes thru the machine, but that the threads actually are sewing over the edge that it just cut. Turn a tee shirt (or some other stretchy fabric garment) inside out and check the seam you'll see that the threads OVERLOCK the seam. It makes a lot of things, espcially stretchy fabrics and a lot of silky fabrics, a lot easier to sew and keep from raveling. I used the server to make a sweet red polka dot dress in a rayon fabric that probably would have raveling really badly if i had just used the straight sewing

fleece + serger = awesome fast sewing. i can make about 5 adult hats per hour with the serger and that includes cutting the fabric.

i ended up getting a garmin 760 because it has built in traffic reports and rerouting, and bluetooth technology and big screen. However, when i had it send me from home to the closest police station, it sent me to the parking lot where the police station used to be...5 years ago. Not sure what is up with that.

here is the mark strand poem i sent to Robin for last night's memorial: From the shadow of domes in the city of domes, A snowflake, a blizzard of one, weightless, entered your room And made its way to the arm of the chair where you, looking up From your book, saw it the moment it landed. That's all There was to it. No more than a solemn waking To brevity, to the lifting and falling away of attention, swiftly, A time between times, a flowerless funeral. No more than that Except for the feeling that this piece of the storm, Which turned into nothing before your eyes, would come back, That some
