  1. I think I asked a question like this when I first got on VC, about one of Jeff's jackets. The cast is just now coming off. I think they order from Lands' End.
  2. There are many but right now around this point in my life: Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy
  3. Man, that entire album sticks w/ me more than anything else in Radiohead's catalog (besides specific songs, like Knives Out). Blender is full of it.
  4. AHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHHHAHAHA!!! ...that is all.
  5. This is not a good start for Romo...
  6. Cherry Bomb was definitely the better performance. Their Letterman performance didn't sound so hot either, I guess it's just the nature of their sound, doesn't translate well through the TV. Bet you Rob Pope never dreamed he would make it on SNL.
  7. I happen to think That Thing You Do! is very entertaining.
  8. So, who's going? Any restaurant reco's downtown or near HOB, I feel like trying something new.
  9. Yeah I turned the game on and heard Aikman or someone say "It certainly is business time" and I started humming the song and what do you know, the song came on.
  10. There's a great shop at Northpark in Dallas if you ever are out this direction. There prices can be pretty steep but theres pretty much always a sale going on.
  11. http://www.originalpenguin.com Probably 1/4th of my closet is penguin clothes
  12. Wore these for 2 years straight, they have been retired.
  13. I have my DVR set for this series, based on last nights part is it worth the time?
  14. Deakins is one of my favorite cinematographers (Fargo is probably my favorite movie of his). Thinking about seeing it and Into The Wild this weekend.
  15. I was front row right smack in front of Nels (dark brown medium length hair, light blue shirt), and I'm only 20 and knew all the words to every song, but I do agree most Wilco fans my age that I know only seem to appreciate Summerteeth forward (not making an generalizations about VC'ers mind you). My best friend from from STL was with me in Dallas and A.M. is his favorite Wilco record, so between Too Far Apart, Just That Simple, and Casino Queen on Sunday at ACL, I think he could have died and gone to heaven.

Justin Long ("I'm a Mac" guy) was backstage. There was a point where they kept holding the camera on Pat and rack focusing to Justin every time he turned around.
  17. I have a massive sunburn and 3 hours of sleep but the weekend was well worth it. Began with Wilco in Dallas on Friday. Drove down to Austin Saturday morning, had a few beers with some friends, went to Matt's El Rancho for a early dinner (my personal favorite Mexican place in Austin), and headed downtown to see The National at Emo's w/ Blond Redhead. Pat, Nels and John were in attendance at that show, I stood next to Pat for a little bit before The National came on. They played an amazing set, really the highlight of the weekend behind "Just That Simple" in Dallas. Matt Beringer puts so mu
  18. I can't wait for the recording to hear John again, that was the highlight of the night. Was anyone else standing on the right side of the stage when Dr. Dog was playing and the wasp was on Frank's guitar? That was intense! "I thought my guitar was cutting me" That made me cringe. Dr. Dog had a great set, perfect opener for Wilco. Who else thinks Scott McMicken looks like a miniature Britt Daniel?
  19. The 8 year old kid I was standing next to had one hell of a birthday... How long has it been since the last time John sang "Just That Simple" with Wilco? And does anybody know why those of us w/ blue tickets had them? Was it because of preorder? That was a sweet surprise getting to go in first. Anyways, awesome show, sound was great, loving the large doses of A.M. and BT we got tonight.
  20. TF2 - Soldier TF2 - Heavy Weapons Guy Here are the other two that have come out so far...the game has something like 10 different characters, each who have a specific role in basically capturing the flag from the other teams base. Maybe once you watch the other two you will understand the humor in it.
  21. Just a little information on the game, it's called Team Fortress 2, it runs off the steam engine (Half Life 2)...and these commercials are online only available through the steam network (and eventually youtube etc). I played Counter Strike and Team Fortress Classic all through high school, and since basically quitting video games a few years ago this is the only game that has remained on my radar (it's been in development with various scraped versions for 6 or 7 years). I for one think this is supremely cool. For those who think it's bullshit, to me its just a nice homage that .001% of the
  22. I've only been to the upper part (the palladium loft). It's very clean and you can go sit out on the large deck and have a drink between sets (probably not an option if you want to be up near the stage). Sound was good upstairs, I haven't heard the main hall sound. Apparently there are video screens in the main hall, there were flat panels in the loft part that I assume show the same thing. It's a pretty nice place, though it's located in a weird part of downtown. Nothing beats the Granada for as far as location for me.
  23. I've had multiple dreams of Wilco sitting around talking in my house. Last night I have a very vivid memory of a dream where I was at the Oscars with my mom and she was chatting up Sally Field and Maria Menounos about their favorite childrens books.
