I can buy that. Being 21 I don't think I remember a time when MTV was even remotely relevant. By the time I really started watching, 120 minutes was at the tail end of it's run. My first memories of watching MTV are from The Smashing Pumpkins "Tonight, Tonight" video

I just figured out Ian Williams was in High Fidelity during The Beta Band scene. I knew I recognized that guy in the yellow jacket!

I think it's about time this thread gets re-awakened.

Beautiful Final Scene

This is such an excellent little mix, I had tickets to the Hogg show that two of these songs were recorded at but had to go out of town last minute

Nice, probably seen that movie 20 times and never noticed that.

I feel this way too. I live in Dallas now, but when Wilco doesn't come through DFW it just gives me an excuse to spend a day or two in Austin, San Antonio, or Houston. Hell, my good friend from STL will usually fly down and go to the Texas shows with me. Sure it can be kind of a pain, but there are upsides. -
well...hell Matthew...I enjoyed your post

He probably should have included the previous line from the article and it would have made sense.

Yeah that quote really hits it. I want to see that cabin footage

Now to decide if I should go to the Tulsa or Houston show. I think I'd be willing to drive just a little bit more to see them at Cain's vs. verizon

But didn't Chipotle rip off Freebirds? Freebirds as FAR superior to both Chipotle and Qdoba

Yeah, the Magnolia in Dallas is $9.25 for a adult. Two of the times I went to see it were around noon w/ student I.D. so it was pretty cheap. $9.25 is nuts though.

I've seen this 3 times this week here in Dallas. That should tell you my opinion of the movie. The Coen's truely are a cut above all other American filmmakers. Fargo is probably my favorite of theirs and this might have surpassed it. Having read the book I knew the ending and I can't imagine a better way to end the film, this is definitely a movie that needs to be revisited multiple times.

Usually I deal in indifference instead of hatred, but The Decemberists are an exception.

I'm 100 pages in now, reading it for the first time. Such a great book. This guy speaks my language, unfortunately that's kind of depressing

I grabbed The White Sessions from Here . Great recording.

I don't really understand it either, but it all comes back to DVD sales.
