  1. I should be in this too, but at least I was at the 10 year show at the OTS and some other stuff that is on here. (they should at least thank me for buying so much stuff from them over the years.... ) LouieB
  2. Rilly..... I bought a copy of the complete Stone Roses awhile back. Can anyone explain to me why this album changed anything? LouieB
  3. Exactly....Satelite Rides is fun too at least the first half. LouieB
  4. I have the Chronic town original vinyl....and I LIKE Shiney Happy People.....I watched the video yesterday and it is entertaining too... LouieB
  5. Actually THAT is complete bullshit.... LouieB
  6. Yea, I thought about that. Usually I get there about 9:30 and he is not there yet, so I think we may be okay. If not, well, so it goes... LouieB
  7. REM was the coolest sounding band ever at the time. They ripped open the field for everyone else. LouieB
  8. Very cool...Stipe with hair, Letterman with hair, Letterman was funny, records were cheap, man, those were days. LouieB
  9. Its gonna be fun....but then we have been having lots of fun of late..... LouieB
  10. yea, it does...this box set may suck me in. After the other thread on REM, I am nostalgic for their good old days, back when I was in my 30s. LouieB
  11. Great some asshole in my demographic.... I thought it was pretty obvious from the get go that Jeff was not playing this tour. LouieB
  12. Yea, I know, but I don't know about him either....this could get kind of weird... At least you are with your parent.... LouieB
  13. I'm ready, although after TG got turned away from the Green Mill I am a bit uneasy about taking her tomorrow night. LouieB
  14. Yea, I do, but this guy would have no idea that I wasn't talking to him; so I felt it was unfair to characterize my rather tacky behaviour to that other guy with this guy, who is obviously interested and sincere. Unlike the last idiot, this person gave us all kinds of personal information to go on and brought up why he was coming here and what he was looking for. The other guy didn't give us squat. LouieB
  15. There are many great restaurants further off the beaten path on Devon. In fact a few, unlike Moti Mahal, are pure veggie and excellent. Really almost no restaurants don't have some veggie option in Chicago, even though Chicago has always been pretty much of a meat town. LouieB
  16. 1. within the city limits2. I could tell you but I would have to kill you. (just kidding, it isn't all that private or exciting to see from the outside.) 3. Jay doesn't perform in public, but he might make a few bucks if he did. LouieB
  17. Trying to help out i barton despite gershon still trying to paint me as a prick. There are great coffee houses all over. One of my faves is a little joint called the Grind in Lincoln Square (I suppose I am the wrong person to ask since I don't drink coffee). Lincolnd Square is a great place to go anyway, because Laurie's Planet of sound is there along with lots of great restaurants, shops and bars. Certainly some of the restaurants would cater to veggie tastes. The Davis is an okay moderately cheap theater. There aren't that many cheap theaters in chicago any more sadly. LouieB
  18. Blind Faith is the best former hippie veggie restaurant in Chicago (although it is in Evanston) as far as I am concerned. Naturally some things don't make the grade, but I have rarely had a bad meal there. LouieB
  19. I have not been in years, but it is pretty good. I like Blind Faith (strictly veggie) in Evanston alot and the Heartland Cafe, though not strictly veggie can be good. Frankly most places in Chicago now have some degree of sensitivity to vegetarians. But the Devon area with numerous Indian restaurants works for veggies pretty well. There are numberous middle eastern places that are always good, particularly good are the ones in Andersonville and Albany Park. My favorite is Noon-o-kebab in Albany Park, which has veggie food too. Of course the thing with all these neighborhoods is you pretty
  20. First off, Gershon was quoting from a thread where someguy asked a one sentence, what do I HAVE to do in Chicago??. It wasn't you and that was NOT my reply to you, so ignore that bullshit. Cleary you are coming for a reason and asked all kinds of great questions. I reply to people all the time about stuff do do, just not one person who didn't tell us anything about himself or why he was coming or what his interests were. It is pretty hard to go on that. You on the other hand were pretty specific, so see my comments and ask other questions. LouieB
  21. Wow, the Decemberists have graduated to the Riv.... LouieB
  22. Chronic Town is pretty cool. A young band getting its sea legs...I always liked it alot. Tales is also good. LouieB
