It's Penfold. He was (is?) a caracter in a cartoon called Dangermouse, which was a delightfully goofy James Bond kind of cartoon several years ago. Penfold is the fraidy-cat but loyal sidekick who says "Crumbs!" in an English accent the way we would say "oh crap!". Kinda campy, but always one of my favorite cartoons to watch with the kids. Haven't seen it in forever, tho. I think it used to be on PBS.

What is it with the raggin on Walken thing? It's just a happy little love song. It's got a little bounce, a little twang, a little sap. Add a little horn section, and it's a pretty funky little number. Why is that a bad thing? Makes me smile every time I hear it, and live with horns is just that much better. Not everything in the catalog has to be the same. Isn't that why we like these guys so much? We all love the other stuff too, but it seems odd to me that a simple, straightforward, happy little love song gets so much angst from the board. Musta been the suit, that's all I can fi

Yeah, that one was pretty funny. Kinda along the lines of Gilda Radner's Roseanne Rosanadana (sp?) for us old timers, but pretty funny. And Walken was the better of the two songs played. I think it shows more of the band's creativity than Hate it Here. Nels is the only guy I've ever seen who can get an aerobic workout sitting in a chair playing lap guitar...

Just right.

The guitars and the horns go well together on this one. And they really have Glenn's cymbals mixed nicely tonite.
-
Glenn's cymbals are especially nice on this one tonite

I wouldn't have made that connection, so thanks for 'splaining.

I like where this setlist is going tonite.

man, this is a pretty quiet geek out thread. I vote we hijack the whiney Charleston threads and spread the love over there.

When threads collide... this is in #41 from the "Stuff White People Like" blog here. Sounded vaguely familiar...

I'm confused. Doesn't all of that story have to be a load of crap for the whole character witness / testimony thing? To make Kate look like a hero instead of a criminal? 'Cause there were way more than 8 survivors, eh? Is it a cover story for whatever (whomever) they left behind, or do we think they really that their memory of the whole event is now replaced with this 8 people / 6 people with Kate being the hero thing? I think they're all just lying. Don't know why - but I suppose that they left stuff on the island (eg, people, bodies, crime scense, etc) that they don't want people to k

That's right... thanks. Charlie's the Brit. but the aussies are all great-great-great grandkids of British felons & whatnot, so same thing....

When Kate went to pick up Aaron at the end, he said something like "mum" or "mummy" which kinda tipped me off that he was Aaron since Claire had that whole Brit thing going. I was expecting Claire to be one of the Oceanic 6 myself. When Charlie "appeared" to Hurley at the funny farm, he told Hurley that it was his job to "take care of them" or something like that. I figured that the "them" was Claire and the baby, so they must be around somewhere. Not sure how that would work since Claire's obviously not there, but I think the Charlie / Hurley thing has something to do with Aaron. A
