that makes me very sad. i saw some news report that published excerpts from the guy's writings. that i don't agree with, why give him a platform to spread hate and nastiness after causing such a tragedy. i don't get the news media sometimes. commit an act of violence and your voice will be heard. that's just plain wrong.

"A third person sustained minor injuries in the shooting, according to police. " from later in the article. 3 people total were injured. one was a guard, one was the shooter, and i mistakenly thought the 3rd was the other security guard. there was a third injury though.

"A gunman armed with a shotgun walked into the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington today and opened fire on a security guard before being shot and seriously wounded by at least one other guard, authorities said." from the Post. two guards were injured and the man with the shotgun was seriously wounded.

i spotted two girls driving behind me today trying to take a picture of the car/plates. it was kinda funny. they were totally giddy and doing everything they can for several blocks trying to take the picture. we kept hitting green lights and i felt a bit awkward just stopping in the middle of the road so they could get the picture.

i think you underestimate the average age of your fellow VCers. we're really just a bunch of old people.

i jumped in here because my dad just told me he was running windows 7 and got an email from microsoft telling him that at the end of the summer it would not run every few hours and by august the beta version would no longer work. he had said something about not being able to back to vista once you installed the windows 7 beta. i'm not sure what that was all about, but it sounded odd to me. how does an operating system render itself useless after a certain period of time? anyone else get an email like that? and oh it is so tempting to jump in on the mac vs pc debate. being the absolute mac sn

I've been getting the same things intermittently since the change over. I'm on the latest version of Firefox on the Mac. it will also spin out sometimes when I go to post something. It just loads and loads and doesn't go anywhere. I end up closing the window and log back in and hours later the attempted post shows up. -- also, OMG I miss the +/- minus button already. i know we only had it for all of a few nanoseconds in the grand scheme of things, but now I have this phantom reflex of going over to that part of the screen and trying to +/- something.

he's gotta be messing with us. he barely plays it when he's on stage. i always thought he played keyboard because the arthritis in his hands keeps him from playing guitar and he's too uncomfortable up there without being attached to an instrument. he's totally messing with us.

This is all a guess. I've heard that folks really good at math make great musicians and great musicians can easily become great mathematicians (and computer programmers). having seen dylan in concert almost 20 times (I have lost track at this point), he rarely plays a song the same way twice. Half the time I have to wait for the lyrics to figure out what in the world it is. I wonder if what they are doing by mathematically deconstructing/reconstructing the music is looking at what was originally written and then shifting the counts, adjusting the key, and all together affecting the rhythm and

because we're all a bunch of smart asses, that +/- button is going to make us all negative. I love it! am I the only one that quotes aren't showing up any differently from what someone wrote after quoting another post? it shows up in this thread, but doesn't show up in items written pre-change over.
