    9:30 !

it really angers me when people buy the tickets available on ebay and stubhub. buying tickets for the 9:30club (and philly) were torturous and beyond frustrating this time around. needless to say the hoops i have to go through to pick-up my tickets. all of which i attribute to the scalpers and above mentioned options. if people would simply stop buying those tickets, this problem would go away. but i realize i am only dreaming.
  2. Washington DC!!!!!!!!!! finally! must must must MUST get tickets.
  3. WILCO travel plazas are the best! i drove between DC and TN many a times and didn't notice until what would be one of my last trips that there was a travel plaza on the route. Here's a pic of the back of one of the gasoline trucks that I took.
  4. scrabulous is fabulous! i'm getting my ass kicked in one game against a friend who keeps clogging up the board with two and three letter words that give him 60points and am kicking another friends ass at the same time. I LOVE IT! although i have to add, the vampires app rocks too. but that's only because i'm a mistress vampire on there and have surpassed my friend who made me a vampire...bruhaaahahaa. and Facebook is most certainly better referred to as FaceCrack with scrabulous as part of it.
  5. yeah, i know. i took the fun out of it didn't i.
  6. i just double checked it. Meryl was nominated for best acress, Helen Mirren won best actress for the queen. the fashion comment was more of an aside. i thought there was great fashion in that movie. it had nothing to do with oscars or actresses. although the movie actually did get nominated for best costume. Marie Antionette won though. those costumes were pretty amazing. especially the shoes.
  7. i think meryl streep actually won an oscar for The Devil Wears Prada. the fashion is pretty great in it.
  8. Go to Swett's on 28th, the best Meat and 3 around. yummy food! stop by HatchShow print downtown on Broadway, it is very cool. and although the locals scoff at it, i always thought the honky tonks were rather charming and worth a visit. there is also the Pancake Pantry in Hillsboro Village. People line up early for pancakes.
  9. my secret santa gift arrived right on time!!!! and my santa knows me well! thanks santa!!!
  10. oooh, I must track these down and try them. I love a good stout that you can chew on!
  11. i keep the registration and the insurance card in the car. but then, i have two insurance cards, so i keep the second one on me and there's a copy of the registration (provided by DMV when they gave me the original registration) that lives in a file cabinet in my apartment.
  12. i'm guessing you don't live in DC. here, history means a lot. the stadium is quite impressive in person. even more impressive is the speed in which the transformation it has made to the neighborhood it is located in. separated from the rest of the city by the Southwest Freeway, which cuts right between cityblocks and buildings, the area has been grossly negelected. i drove through there this weekend and the transformation taking place is actually connecting the area back to the city without the Freeway being a divider. it was eery and strange to see. then again, there's the whole flipside ar
  13. you know, i was a vegetarian for 10 years and gave it up recently. man is cow good!
  14. I thought the Hanukkah Fairy was hilarious! then again I am not religious by any stretch of the imagination and would not get offended easily by such antics. I'm not sure if Aimee and Paul did the antics on Jesus and getting saved at your show, but it was pretty ballsy and pushed the envelope as much as the Hanukkah Fairy. Did Nelly do the Rudolph song with the Rudolph stocking at the Chicago show. That I found to be absolutely bizarre and wondered about her "crazy" levels.

  16. no, she was drinking hot tea all night and struggled with her voice at moments, but was still incredible!
  17. When I was a docent at the Nashville Zoo, we had a big docent Christmas party. Most of the fellow docents were significantly older than me (by 20 years) to give you a sense of the crowd, and there were around 50 docents. We did the whole gift exchange where you bring in a present and someone steals it from you or opts for a new present. I kept having my presents stolen, things like candles and wine bottle stoppers, so I go to the table to select yet another present. I pick one that has very girly teddy bear wrapping paper. Sit down and start opening it, all eyes in the room are on me (since it
