  1. I like Nels’ guitar work on the new song, but I’m hoping the rest of the album moves away from the breezy acoustic feel of Schmilco, Warm, and Warmer.
  2. Really hope POTR is backing him again at Farm Aid. It’s been too long since I’ve seen Neil with a band.
  3. Never liked the Q for that reason as well. I don't need to see a 20 minute Cumberland Blues, part of the fun of that song is it's compact punch. Everyone taking a solo or two adds nothing to it.
  4. It’s really amazing to think about how prolific Jeff has been in the past 5+ years. Sukierae, SW, Schmilco, Warm, Warmer, and now a new Wilco album? All of them ranging from pretty good to great too!
  5. PSA: the vinyl set is back in stock online. Cancelled my CD order and picked that up.
  6. Finally gave in and ordered the CD set. I'm kind of annoyed that the bonus track is vinyl only!
  7. So I saw on Wilcostore that under the Warm/Warmer CD release they list it as having the bonus song and that it will be released on July 12 (which doesn't really jive with the prior info), so I emailed them: That seems like a weird thing to say if there were extras at SS and if there was something being released on the 12th.
  8. That’s great news, thanks!
  9. Were there a lot of copies of the vinyl set available at SS? I'm really hoping some of those make their way online or at least become available at the couple of upcoming Tweedy shows!
  10. Did anyone go to the SBS meetup at SS? Any new information or details?
  11. It would be nice if there was a digital release of this with the bonus track. I honestly can’t figure out why they’re making this damn album so difficult for people to hear!
  12. Wow so basically half the set was karaoke? No offense to any of the singers, but that sounds absolutely awful. Poor Places is one of my favorite songs and I would have been pissed to see some random sing it instead of Jeff.
  13. Listen, I know they’re not going to NOT play Chicago, but what the fuck?
  14. Actually listened to 8/22/93 this weekend, solid show.
  15. Thought this weekend's shows at Wrigley were pretty great, best i've seen of them for sure.
  16. I think Mayer is great, but the slow tempos are definitely frustrating. I'll be seeing both shows this weekend and hoping for the best. I still think, overall, D&C is the best incarnation out there by a long shot and the best to come out in a long long time. I am also a huge Bobby mark so i'll pretty much see him whenever with whoever.
  17. I’ll never begrudge a musician for getting what they can, when they can, especially when a significant amount of their income comes from touring. Sucks when the tickets get more expensive and you encounter stuff like platinum tickets and virtual waiting rooms, but it is what it is.
  18. And the LP is already sold out? Can that be right??
  19. Damnit was hoping for a separate Warmer release. Hopefully there will be a separate digital option.
  20. Love love love Berman and am very excited for Purple Mountains. I think the first song they released is fantastic.
  21. So they going to push three years since the last Chicago show then? Can’t imagine they’d wait until 2020.
  22. I could be wrong, but I don’t think people go to see Wilco to see random crowd members sing, no matter how talented they might be. They’re going to see Jeff, that’s who the connection is with.
  23. that sounds...awful. hopefully they don't do anything remotely like that in Mexico.
  24. Totally painless, can't wait for the schedule and other stuff to be announced!
