It’s funny how one’s perception of the audience/venue can vary so much by their neighbors. I think the crowds have for the most part been pretty good (you’re going to have talkers and gawkers at any show, no matter the venue size). I counted 11 unique songs from night 1, which was fantastic. Would be nice if they could keep that ratio up!

Thought it was a great show (love the Chicago Theatre). I will say that I am not a Bull Black Nova fan, I’ve come to appreciate it over the years, but I’ll never want to see it live, but damn if the version they played last night wasn’t the highlight of the show. I was legit startled when they kicked back in at the end of it after it got quiet haha.

What kind of stuff were they selling? Anything interesting besides the vinyl?
-
That was my thought when I saw they switched the dates. It'll be a regular show just like the other 3, just a little tighter.
-
Shit, that’s something I would have made an effort to pick up if I didn’t already have the album.

Wonder if the US will get additional shows this summer or if it'll just be sporadic festivals (looks like they already have one booked in the UK for June)?

Damn, turned off the stream when California stars started up so I missed the lonely 1. Empty corner was great with the violin. -
Not that i'll need another Wilco show in March after Chicago/Mexico, but it's a little surprising they're skipping Milwaukee in favor of Madison. Hopefully that isn't a trend.

Was so pissed when I heard the studio version of one wing sans jam. Talk about musical blue balls!

Pulled a mid floor center aisle seat for the Thursday night show in Chicago, $110 after fees. Closer to the stage was $130+ and even the balconies were over $80. Unreal. Don't think i'll hit both shows at those prices.

lol I would love some new Pavement and Walkmen music in 2020 but I HIGHLY doubt either of those happen.
-
Fun article, I absolutely loved that 2008 Lollapalooza show. Was feeling really good and just rocked the hell out.
-
It took me a while (I really disliked the album at first, it was a chore for me to listen), but now I love it. This and W(TA) have been the two most challenging listens in the catalog for me as far as warming to them.

Yeah I was at that Chicago show as well, good stuff but I’m kind of a sucker for Bob.
-
New Bob and Wolf Bros tourdates for next spring announced today. Think i'll hit up one or both of the Chicago shows, even though they're mid-week.
-
More activities and excursions announced! Some of the excursions look pretty cool, but i'm not sure if I want to get up so early after a potentially late night to go look at some ruins and maybe miss a mezcal tasting with Nels and John.

Festival looks pretty sweet and i'm sure that the chapel set will be amazing, but hot damn that is a lot of coin!

Anyone else miss "Art of Almost" in the live show?

An unfortunate casualty of the homogenization of the setlists. You'd think it would fit in quite nicely with the OTJ-noise material, just like BBN and Laminated Cat, it's kind of surprising that it hasn't been inserted in that slot at all. -
Looks like the SVE sets will be solo acoustic, which is kind of a bummer.
-
Robyn Hitchcock (first two shows) and Sharon Van Etten (last two shows) were just added as support for the Chicago shows! I've never heard Hitchcock before, but have really been liking Sharon Van Etten lately, so this is fantastic news. Seems like pretty damn good openers.

I've been using setlist.fm recently for all of my non-Phish/Phish adjacent shows (phish.net does that wonderfully). I also have spreadsheets with setlists and stats for all of my Wilco/Tweedy shows, as well as ones for Neil Young, Pavement, and the Stones because I am a nerd. I wish I could remember all of the non-ticketed shows i've seen over the years!
