  1. The Brewers pitching staff always resurrects a struggling offense. Marlins put up 13 yesterday vs Brewers. from jsonline.com Never mind that the Marlins, two days removed from being victimized by Roy Halladay's perfect game, had scored only one run in 29 innings prior to that fateful sixth. The Brewers' pitching staff can wake the dead, as evidenced by their horrible 5.36 earned run average. anyway, Corey Hart continues to hit homers. he leads the NL with 13. wow! I never would have predicted that feat.
  2. i will be in minnesota on the 15-17th of june for twins vs rockies. i will be going to Matt's Bar.
  3. ive heard a lot of Hawks in 6, seems to be the popular prediction. I agree with it.
  4. HA! From Shootout to Stanley Cup. Way to go Flyers! They are playing great hockey. Chicago is ready but both cities/fans are thirsty for the Cup. BRING IT ON!!!
  5. Id keep Ike Davis for the rebuilding Mets team. He seems quite legit.
  6. Hawks look very impressive. But so do the Flyers. Hopefully it will be a good series. would be sort of a disappointment if the series was lame after an outstanding playoffs.
  7. sharks need to win four games out of five and three of those games are in Chicago. It will be a huge challenge to come back to win series. Flyers overcame it, not sure about them Sharks.
  8. id like to think this will be great, but im having my doubts. I will probably buy it if it isnt sold out already. since it is limited, it will probably be a high-priced item on ebay, like Love is Hell LP and Cold Roses belt buckles.....
  9. i hear you beltman. i was listening in my car and when Rolen came up i predicted the game-tying homer. It has become too easy to predict those outcomes. too bad for hoffmann. he may be done. closers shouldnt be 42 years old......... macha is terrible for not taking him out after walking the guy after the homer but he seems afraid to 'disrespect' a future hall of famer. please, it is about winning. i dont care who you are, that is why i elect Freddy Gonzalez, manager of the Marlins, manager of the week for sitting Hanley Ramirez, despite his stardom.
  10. i am not yet 40 but when i turn 40 i would like to have a big bash, sure it is selfish but it is a special occasion. But i agree, if you don't want to get hammered because you have more important things ( family stuff) to attend to the next day, then you should do what you want. YOu can always get hammered another night with your friends to celebrate your 40th.
  11. id like to see more balance of coverage but sure, i understand, balance doesnt bring in the dollars, the Yankees do. Eff the Yankees.
  12. Yankees on ESPN 3 times this week, Mon- vs Bos, Wed-vs Rays, Sun-vs Mets.... ESPN is a whore.
  13. there has been a rash of One-Hitters since Jimenez's no-hitter and Braden's perfect game: Matt Cain, Mat Latos, Johnny Cueto, am i missing one?
  14. sorry to change the subject but i have a question that i probably know the answer to, just want to read some thoughts. My ex-girl just adopted a dog, sort of spontaneously. Am I getting replaced by the dog? getting her unconditional love from an animal to cope with the end of a relationship? Is it a little immature to do so instead of trying to resolve things with me? in her mind, she probably thinks things are resolved but adopting the dog sort of creates an avoidance on the issue i think. sorry if this is silly.... EDIT: ah, yeah, upon further review, this is silly....i guess im ju
  15. of course i know he is but ive read a lot of comments from Canadian-born people, that he isnt well liked. heck, we've discussed it here, people dubbed him a cry-baby and all that. i personally dont have a problem with him. he does a lot for the sport and if he wasnt here, the NHL would be in a much worst place, nationally-speaking.
  16. correct comment on the pretentiousness. wilco fans have been called pretentious before i have read. honestly, i dont care either way. i like what i like.
  17. I like the song, sure it isnt deep as other songs on YHF but who cares? Lets go to the school of Dylan here. Of course, he has serious songs with messages, imagery, etc. but then the guy wrote and sang totally weird "cheesy" songs. IF Dylan did it, it is ok to do. Warning: I'm going to knock Jay Farrar here. I like his music, his writing but it is all 'one-note.' Rarely does his music lighten up and be fun. But that is ok, that is his style. Tweedy has a personality with humor so songs like Monkey Mess are appropriate.
  18. Montreal looked real good last night. I dont believe they will come this far to lose in the Eastern Conference Finals so I'm just going to say they are in the Cup. They have the two best players right now, Halak and Cammalieri, with a hot Gionta. I understand that Pens' fans are disappointed but a lot are lashing at Crosby. I know he isnt the most popular player but the kid has accomplished everything. He is not going to win every year, take it easy fans.
  19. that was my problem, miscommunication, lack of it, misunderstanding, which inevitably lead to the end of my relationship with only woman i love. BOO!!!
  20. The Hackensaw Boys chug and choog it around pretty good too.
  21. Darn, I like the Blackhawks but I was hoping the Canucks could take it to them. Great season, playoffs, love watching the Canucks....Hopefully they keep Kesler. EDIT: oops, sorry, bad me. Kesler stays!
  22. The Coyotes could perhaps be moving BACK to Winnipeg Winnipeg?
  23. Jay's final record.... Kicking at the Perfumed Air
