  1. winston-who is media savvy in the NHL? the last recent one i can think of is Jeremy Roenick and he is retired.
  2. yeah that woman at the end was sort of cheeky at Pat about his Santa lookalike. Im sure she didnt mean it to be insulting. He took it like a nice guy would.
  3. as a fan without a NHL home team, Ovie is the best player in the game. Sid is great but Ovechkin has it all, size, speed, power, finesse, score, pass, fight....
  4. according to wilcobase, Wilco has played Madison, WI only 12 times, considerably much less than Chicago. So John was a little of in his prediction of wilco playing madison many times or perhaps as much as Chicago. I think he was just being a nice guy. 12 times does seem a little low to me though.
  5. TEAM USA!!!!!! awesome game, im so happy. Eventhough Canada and Russia are better, this one feels good.
  6. had a great time at a hometown show, loved it all. sorry, not much of a review as im sick as a dog.
  7. he also just released Hello Starling on vinyl too.
  8. if i was going to have a 'road worn' guitar, id wear it down myself, by years of playing, not buy one pre-warn down. this will never happen as my guitars rarely leave my house.
  9. say what you will about the record, but i just love Britt Daniel's guitar tone/sound. fabulous!
  10. I just read that Wilco used Price is Right Intro for the Seattle show. I believe this intro has been used for several years now. Around YHF-GIB era, they used the Willy Wonka Pure Imagination intro. I thought that fit perfect for those shows. Does anyone remember any other Intros to Wilco shows?
  11. this keeps getting better and better. but i should expect that.
  12. yeah that is a great cover. wilco has done a fair share of great covers over the last decade, most classic rock and all beautiful. who, zep, young, dylan, all great.
  13. i had another one from 1997 that i ordered off their old website. I think someone still had the template of it. anyway, it was a white shirt with Red Black plane with propellers with WILCO on it. not a great shirt but old school wilco i guess.
  14. my favorite was one i got in 97. a small red bulldog set in an orange oval shape with WILCO is small letter. simple yet great. wish i didnt toss it. white shirts never survive long.
  15. wow, ovechkin with the hat trick, crosby two goals, Knuble in OT from Ovechkin....does it get better than Caps vs Pens? Capitals are too good.
  16. plus i think NJ has a little edge because it seems people are still fixated on Washington and Pittsburgh. NJ is pretty damn good and now with Ilya, really damn good.
  17. yeah Ilya to NJ is a big one. Ovechkin gets all the pub but Ilya has scored just as much. a Great player finally on a good team. at least 41 goals in each of the last five seasons
  18. i agree with those last posts as well but to me, it is just fun to listen to. not to break it down and study it maybe like YHF, but just to have fun and listen, background music, party music. nothing to really evoke a drastic response like YHF or any Radiohead record.
  19. oh wow, really great song. i love it lots
  20. Ryan Adams Overrated/Underrated interesting article on Ryan Adams most overrated/underrated songs.
  21. ahh, umm...who else would they be?
  22. im sorry Cubs fan, yes you were jipped by Woods and Prior, but Cubs fans have been getting jipped for a lot longer and by more things. you can have that title.
  23. i havent met any of them but have seen them off-stage many times. a cool moment was before a Autumn Defense record store show in Columbus OH, Glenn and Mikael, were going throw the record shelves, both were into the Avant Garde section. and they were watching the show amongst the rest of the crowd. cool. i snuck into two separate soundchecks, the highlight was the Otto's Dekalb, IL show, first official Nels performance and first show after Jeff got out of rehab. Jeff was standing next to me offstage in observation while the band played the rhythm to Spiders Kidsmoke.
  24. there's no secret about how Great of a pitcher Ben Sheets is, that is, when he is healthy. He has never won more than 12 games due to some bad Brewer teams but also because of his injuries. And the frustrating part, the injuries were freak ones. He had a busted ear problem, finger, etc... He would pitch great and then BAM! injury. Like in '08 season when the Crew had CC. Ben went down right after CC came on board, it shattered the team, whenever we needed him most, he got hurt. unfortunate. I think he is revitalized so he will be great for Oakland. i just sorta feel jipped a little as a
