Oxegen is about putting the Killers on a stage you cant get near or see anything because its overrun by teenage girls. But they have so much money because of the amount of tickets they sell and they're linked with T in the Park in UK, so they can pay the big bucks for bands. Electric Picnic had Arcade Fire before they hit the big time and they wanted them again this year but they said they were outbid by Oxegen and they're offer of a festival in UK and Ireland. Security are also crap, people were abused by them and they're generally very heavy handed and rough, They even shut down the Oxeg

It is strange how bad a festival Oxegen is and how brilliant Electric Picnic is when thye're both in such a small country as Ireland. Where else could Super Furry Animals have aoustic bingo last year?

I would have thought the same only it was The Irish Times, not a tabloid or crappy paper. But yeah I agree that currently it does seem like Oxegen would make more sense.

What was the disagreement they had? did they completely fall out over it and was the 2nd album made by getting together again or from left overs from 1st album? Always read how they had "disagreements" but just never heard the specifics
