  3. I assume you are being sarcastic. Hope your a fan of Austrian economics, it is what we need to be teaching and our hope for a free and good future.
  4. Correction: The depression was caused by Hoover by carrying out the same failed ideas that our government is now trying to carry out. Roosevelt made things worse by the New Deal, but many people relive history incorrectly so we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes.
  5. I dedicate this song to Our Economy.
  6. That number is just of very recent announcements. You have to figure with Circuit City going belly up, alot of retailers will also follow. Uneployment is gonna sky. Good luck everyone, its gonna get tough. Newest Cuts: Corning and Clariant became the latest companies to slash jobs, with Corning cutting up to 4,900 positions and Clariant eliminating 1,000 workers.
  7. There is a new world order coming... the shifting of power... Interesting times. America's house of cards is collapsing. This is an example of a poorly run country that we can see happen to us: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090126/ap_on_..._iceland_crisis
  8. I dont have much resistance with my card, but maybe not a big deal. There is a NES emulator and games that barely take up any room.
  9. "The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works - whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified. Where the answer is yes, we intend to move forward. Where the answer is no, programs will end. And those of us who manage the public's dollars will be held to account - to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day - because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government." This quote is why our government doesnt get it an
  10. cool, someone on my side. I could afford the $100 ticket, but any higher and I think its probably out my range. I just hope they dont raise prices cause there seems to be interest in making more money this year. I'm waiting till friday for my tix.
  11. Strengthening or Weakening the Economy? by Ron Paul The economic situation continues to deteriorate this week as past and future bailouts were discussed on Capitol Hill. The debate was over the accountability of already disbursed TARP money, and on whether or not to release remaining funds. Banks that had already been bailed out before are looking for more money to fill the black holes that are their balance sheets, warning that they are simply too big to fail. However, whatever
  12. You guys are a rough crowd. Very defensive. Chill out. It's like Wilco is your God or something.
  13. Well the school is lucky to have Jeff play for them and they are getting enriched by having huge scholarships for kids to attend. Just saying they are making out good. I guess if people will pay the prices, then go ahead and charge what you can. I would. I just hope the show doesnt price me out eventually.
  14. Anybody get the $250 Gold? Geezzz, 2 shows at these prices. think of the money the school raises. Must be one lucky rich school.
  15. Last year I dont think it even sold out till almost show time, so these are somewhat easy tickets to get. Also ticketmaster list them to go on sale tommorow at noon.

  18. "Bush attached some conditions. The loans would be called back if the automakers cannot prove they are viable by March 31, an administration official said." Let's see how they will get people to buy GM or Chrysler in the next 3 months thats gonna prove something. The cars havent changed at all and the economy is only getting worse.
  19. People will benefit from this and in the spirit of Christmas, it is a good gesture to all the innocent victims. Let the companies stay alive a little longer. But when it comes to finance of the country, its a waste and a loss and we will pay for it later.
  20. Full pay and benefits for a at least a full month during the holidays. Thats a nice gift. Good time to look for a new job. Car demand is down and wont go back to where it used to be for a long time so dont expect to have a thriving car market when the bailout comes. Things are happening the way it should so far, hopefully the government doesnt screw things up too much.
  21. Congrats! You did good. You really set yourself well. Thats the way to live.
  22. You could be doing a great thing for yourself. The house is the big question. Depends how much of a deal you got on it. Most likely you got a great deal. It will probably still lose value as time goes by but alot of it was lost already. Also rates are soo low at this point, you may never get this buying opportunity. Hope you got a fixed rate for 15 or 30. If you got an adjustable one, I would seriously thing about changing it. Also all those things you said are useful things you will live with for years to come. Those are what is important, because when the dollar collapses, necce
  23. A fake economy is not maintainable. We cant just keep buying cars and homes and expect property values to always rise. We have to learn to change and adapt. Yes, a collapse in an industry will take down many businesses. America needs restructuring, we dont need more houses or cars. We dont need fancier things. We cant live the way we used to anymore. We need to find a way to make our country work and make money. This will not happen if we prop up bad businesses. There will be job losses and companies going out of business. This is what happens and is happening. It isnt fair when so
