  2. I'm no big John Mayer fan but have you heard his album "Try" some good stuff on that...if this "Dead" lineup comes close to home at reasonable prices I'm in...would prefer Steve Kimock though.
  3. Hmm, I really enjoyed the Muscle Shoals doc and couldnt get through 20 minutes of the Nilsson doc...now have you seen "Beware of Mr. Baker"?
  4. Best thing about '74 aside from Wall of Sound is Phil's bass... So out front in the mixes, love it. Next to primal era '74 is it for me.
  5. Love Fatal Wound, never fails to floor me... "almost as empty as the look you give me when I'm the only one"
  6. OK after about 5 spins all the way through my top 3 songs are: Diamond Light, Flowering, Fake Fur Coat. Next tier are: Down From Above, New Moon, Where My Love. Find myself actually liking overall sides C/D to A/B. Only song I skip is Summer Noon - can't get into it at all...too repetitive IMO

  8. The War On Drugs with Califone
  9. Ok, how about Junior Kimborough "All Night Long" he was 62, RL Burnside was putting out good stuff late in life too.

  11. Here is a link to a review of the show: http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6113842/jeff-tweedy-wilco-spencer-son-sukierae-new-songs-detroit
  12. That was the line of the night! Takeover the Southwest as part of the TWEEDY cult
  13. Jeff has a great line in response to the crowds enthusiasm about the new material...it went over too well and he felt bad that we didn't want to hear the old stuff. This was after he acknowledged that philosophically it was not a good idea to start the tour with a ton if songs nobody has ever heard. Wilco Me, your faith will be rewarded!
  14. I thought the first song was as good as Diamond Light sounded like AGIB stuff, so difficult to comment on the new material given the volume we got... The line about "marrying a burden" was heavy, very poetic stuff. Wish I had more of a frame of reference for the new lyrics. Did I mention the show was incredible?
  15. The show was fantastic. Great to hear new tunes wash over you, hilarious banter, respectful audience. Jeff played acoustic nearly all the show while his lead guitar player took all the leads and it was sweet. Wish I could hear the new stuff again but live what can I say? Artist keep creating and I am on the passenger side and thankful for that! So grateful I saw the breakout of all this music. Kid smoke out of the TWEEDY set was sublime. Misunderstood and Acuff Rose my God! Good Night and thank you Jeff! Rest assured solo Tweedy delivered!!!!!!
  16. The Bird Song from Reckoning has awesome Jerry licks for sure!
  17. Jimi Hendrix Live at Berkeley is another great one for Machine Gun alone.
  18. That would be Vol. 8 - yes tremendous my favorite from the Dick's series...the UJB gets me every time.
  19. My top 3 Coltrane -Village Vanguard Tapes Allmans - Fillmore East Dead - Live Dead
