Well, I like a lot of various musics, so I can't say what's my thing or not. I'm basically just interested in any music. I saw a lot of enthusiasm on this thread so it got me interested. I discovered Mr Bird with Weather Systems when it was out some years ago and kinda liked it. On the other hand I never was able to get into The Mysterious Production of Eggs, which is the only other LP of the man I've listened to.

What's so great with the first song of that streaming already? Tell me. It just sounds boring to me.

I purchased these reissues, from the first album til Pleased to Meet Me. And I must say Pleased to Meet Me is easily my favorite. I mean: easily. It sounds way better than the previous ones. I guess now someone will tell me that All Shook Down is even better, since I don't have it yet.

Tell her to listen to Lonely Drifter Karen. Since I've heard this band I keep thinking Jolie Holland would probably love them. The CD is called Grass Is Singing. If I had her addy I'd burn and send her a copy.

On stuff like "Androgynous", you think of Tweedy. Westerberg was a big influence it seems.

The thing is: behind the amateur aspect, there's real taste going on The white background looks superb to me. There's a sense of aesthetic here. The words "Neko Case" written differently would have made a different effect. There's the notion that you have to take risks, and to "try things". It's part of the aesthetics, and I couldn't be more serious! Of course Neko is just a musician with taste in art, but that's something already. There are tons of awful cover arts in the music world that nobody seems to notice.

The artwork of her live album is one of the finest of my CD collection. Tasty as Hell. But regarding artworks, it isn't hard to be distinctively tasty in the music world.
