  1. Classic 70s Aussie exploitation film. Sort of the Wild One meets The Wild Angels with more violence.
  2. ^^ I really liked Old Joy. I love the slow natural pacing and mood of her films. Watched these two last night: Smothered: The Censorship Struggles of the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour - 8.5/10 If you're interested in this influential show and it's battle with the CBS censors, this will be up your alley. CSNY / Deja VU - 7/10 A combination tour documentary and examination of the Iraqi war, focusing on the divided feelings about it in America through the perspectives of the left, right and the soldiers fighting the war.
  3. Their early records were really great. I usually pull one of those out every few months or so.
  4. Untamed Hawk: The Early Recordings of Merle Haggard
  5. Penn and Rourke were great in their respective roles, but I was really hoping for Rourke to pull off an upset. (Didn't really think it would happen though as Penn had already won the SAG.)
  6. The couple in the film aren't all that sympathetic, and they show a blatant disregard for nature. This ends up causing them unforeseen problems during their long weekend camping trip in the wilds of Australia. Some good moments of suspense and paranoia. Definitely worth checking out. Just started this one earlier:
  7. I was wondering how long it was going to take for someone to make that comment.
  8. They're Canadian (Winnipeg) . Good choice though.
  9. Funny and so on the money regarding the FoW stock-in-trade.
  10. I was bikeless for years after my 12-speed was stolen. A few years back my girlfriend and I decided to pick up some cheap mountain bikes. Now I ride all the time, though it has been a few months due to the winter weather. I'm looking forward to Spring so I can get back to it.
  11. Seconded. Worth $5 just for the DVD alone.
  12. Watched Milk earlier today, then this one: Totally entertaining look at 70s/80s Aussie exploitation films.
  13. The Folsom doc was okay, but the lack of live footage from that show makes it a distant 2nd to the San Quentin doc. Still, some interesting Cash tidbits in the film nevertheless.
