Some great ones mentioned. I'll add a couple more to the mix: Larry Carlton - Great tone, tasteful and melodic. His playing on Steely Dan's "Kid Charlemagne" is simply sublime. Lindsey Buckingham - often overlooked, but a really great and versatile player.

Amen! I'm not anti-PF, I just don't see why so much importance is thrust upon them by so many people. There are numerous magazines and review sites that do the same thing, some might argue they do it better, and more fairly too. -

If you come across it, "World of Echo" is worth checking out too. Those 2 records show how diverse the guy really was. I'm looking forward to that Patterson disc. I'm trying to avoid taking a sneak listen to it... we'll see how long that lasts.
