I don't have any interest in the remake with Travolta, the original is good enough for me. What a talented musician. I knew he was a good singer, but damn, he's got some guitar chops too. Seems like a great guy as well.

I was listening to some Harry and that Wings disc the other day . "Band on the Run" would be a good addition to that song suite thread you started a while back.

Nice to have it with the lyrics. I actually had the Bm variants listed the way you have them initially, as that's how I think of them too, but ended up changing them to what the guitar chord program was calling them. I prefer the original way too as it makes more sense. The C/B sounds better than the G//B I had . The capo is definitely on the 4th fret for this version, but yeah, most of us are used to hearing it played with capo on the 2nd fret. Not sure when he went with the lower key for this one, but I'm sure it was probably for vocal reasons. I definitely hear him play the 4th fret

I've been hearing good things about this for a while now. I definitely want to see it. I remember some friends and I finding promo copies of "Metal on Metal" on cassette for a $1 at some store we used to frequent on the way to school. I don't think any of us had ever heard of them before, but the lure of a tape deemed "not for sale" was too strong for us to resist, and as it was only a dollar, we could still buy hockey cards, jawbreakers, and pop too. I can't remember how much action the tape got, but I do recall liking the lead track.

Agreed! Good music is good music, it doesn't have an expiration date like a carton of milk. I've never understood this idea of music being put out to pasture when it is no longer considered fashionable. Music is about melody, lyrics, passion, and how all that makes you feel. There's no reason why something that moved you 4 years ago should no longer do so because it has a dated keyboard on it, or some other trivial nonsense.

2 album covers have just been made better somehow. (that has to be the funniest post of the day.)

I bought a copy of that ages ago. Nowadays of course it's out-of-print, with used copies selling for $60-150 on Amazon. Due to its OOP status I made a FLAC copy a while back, along with some scans, and shared it with some friends. Unfortunately the drive I had it on died, so I don't currently have a copy to share. I do see MP3 versions of it circulating around nevertheless. If you check out one of the big torrent trackers, you'll likely find it.

Initially I thought it was a rooftop patio shot too. C'mon, a camel with a party hat screams rooftop bar, but of course that car sorta killed that whole first impression. Maybe they could photoshop the middle-ground, I want my rooftop patio back.

That's the one that first sprung to my mind. The sound of your voice and some of the lyrics reminded me of him, and that's a good thing as he's one of the best songwriters around these days .

Agreed, one of the greatest solos ever. I remember some guitar magazine had the TAB for that song way back when. I spent hours trying to master the solos. Not sure if I ever got it 100%, but I learned a great deal about note selection and what constitutes a perfect solo from studying it. And yes, Room 335 is excellent. I might have to pull out my old Carlton vinyl this weekend and refresh my ears.
