I've only heard W(TA) 3 times, so it's a bit too soon for me to weigh in.

Working my way through this 5-disc compilation of great Todd stories and songs.

That was a cool video. I find the contrast between the two artists interesting: Feist has such a confident and natural stage presence, whereas Jeff's is a bit more self-conscious and muted. Nevertheless they compliment each other nicely on this one. It's too bad she isn't touring with them, I think she'd be a good influence on their live show.

Yeah, the last RC record got a few spins by me, but that was it. The other two still get played from time to time, especially "Alone at the Microphone." p.s. Thanks for reminding me about that book. I will have to pick that up. NP:

Great song and record. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the Royal City collection that was just released. Even though it's old material, it'll still be good to hear something new after all these years.

I just watched an old film the other week (Slaughter's Big Rip-Off) that had Ed as the head bad guy. First time I'd ever seen him do something other than TV...

Is the board not as active as it once was?

But one important thing to consider, release day brings a proper hi-fidelity recording. Hearing a record as it should be heard: a full sonic assault through a stereo, rather than compressed audio through computer speakers can not be undervalued. Some people have already burnt out on this record and they haven't even heard it properly... Then again, I'm a dinosaur that still buys CDs and vinyl. A lot of people don't care enough about sitting and really listening to a record anymore, so to some a proper vinyl or CD release will mean nothing. -
Did I make a mistake selling this for so little

The guitar looks pretty cool, but I'm sure it looks better than it plays or sounds. -

Sadly, there's some truth to that. Damn this quick-fix-MP3-leaking-short-attention-span era. I remember as a teenager, you'd hear a few songs on the radio of an artist you liked, then you'd have to patiently await the release of the vinyl/cassette. Nowadays, the anticipation and built up excitement for a new release is greatly diminished due to the instant gratification of the internet. You could say the same thing for the board. People couldn't wait a week or so for things to get fixed, so a lot of them went elsewhere. -

I just picked it up today. I listened to the 3 downloaded bonus tracks, but never got around to the actual CD. I wasn't too wowed by the Peace Queer e.p., but I'm a big enough Todd fan that I have to buy everything. I guess I better lower my expectations when I pop this in the player tomorrow.

Wow, I'm surprised and very happy to see the show is getting a 2nd life. That is fantastic news. Over the past month I watched the whole series including the movies on DVD. I was feeling a bit sad after the last one thinking this might be it... and now this .

Had "Feels So Good" in my head for the last few days, damn you Tony Orlando 70s music infomercial.

An up and down ride through the life of Eels frontman Mark Everett. The guy has had to endure a lot of tragic events, but somehow hangs on, thanks in large part to his music. My only real complaint about the book, it's too short, so many chapters aren't as expansive as they probably should have been. A minor quibble for sure, especially as this is for the most part a well written and engaging memoir.

I've listened to it twice, then promptly retired it. Until I can get my hands on the uncompressed audio version that is the CD, I don't want to hear it anymore. MP3s just don't cut it as a proper listening experience for me.
