I met up with a couple of boardies before that show but I have no idea if they are still around. One was local and a taper here in AZ and the other came with his lady from Texas. We had pre show drinks at a place called Rula Bula on Mill Ave. It was really cool. The show absolutley blew me away. Amazing energy and Jeff was in a playful mood that night, I think new to sobriety at that point?

I would assume there is a similar thred somewhere but for the life of me I couldn't find it. I hope this post doesn't annoy anyone. I would love to hear what others think who have been following the band for some time. How many shows, favorite set lists and stuff like that. Here's what I got. This will be a long and fun post. With SolidSound Festival just a week away, I decided to get geeky with Wilco and count up how many times I have seen them as well as Jeff Tweedy solo. I was going to rank all the shows but i'll spare you that and just post 2 setlists from my 2 favorite Wilco sho

I would expect closer to 4 or 5K attendees. Good post Wilco Me. This is going to be intimate and a lot of fun. I agree that they were expecting a whole lot more as well. I'm excited I was able to pull this off and started listening to Wilco again this week. (I take long breaks because between listening so I ensure longetivity in my rotation lol). Here's hoping they open with Misunderstood and finish with something like Outtasite with some Candy Floss tossed in for fun. I just added it up. I've seen Wilco 10 times, the first being in 2003 and the last at Red Rocks last year unless we

Probably still be driving in from the airport at that time. Then setting up camp.

I think it's safe to say The Books, Wilco and Jeff Tweedy & Friends will all be the last 2 hours of each day or something like that. None of the headliners will be on in the middle of the day.

I just started listening to The Books - The Way out. This is the band from N. Adams and man this album is quite good. It's experimental and they use many sound bytes and the music backs it and sounds avant guarde and that can be a turn off but i'm really enjoying it. I suggest you all give it a listen if you get a chance. I'm looking forward to their performance.

I'm the last person to care about corny. Name tag stickers with board names always seem to work. Simple too, you just need a sharpie and a package of stickers. Maybe some sort of meeting place as well on Saturday by some exhibit?

I'm coming from Phoenix, Arizona. I'm meeting up with someone i've networked with on this board named nalafej. He is from Chicago and we are camping at Windsor Lakes. Look forward to meeting some of you!

I recommend The National.

Who's ready for this?! It's almost here. I just finished purchasing the rest of my airfare. So glad I was able to pull this off and it's only a month away now.

It's beyond cool, in fact it's effing awesome! That doesn't change the fact that they announced 2 headlining performances by the band and then put tickets on sale only to later announce it was only 1 full band performance and 1 Tweedy performance. I get it, things change but what kind of fan wants to settle for less Wilco that was originally promised? Especially when this isn't a huge Lollapalooza type festival with 130 + bands to make up for the glaring omission. What if Radiohead announced they would be headlining a 2 day Red Rocks music festival with a handful of other bands and art and

I am not dissatisfied but I am disappointed just a tiny bit that the "feature" of the festival (their words, not mine) has been reduced to one performance. It was a bad idea to say two headline performances, then sell tickets for a month or so and follow it up with a final schedule that only has one performance by the band. I'm super excited about seeing Jeff solo again though and there is plenty of other stuff to do so it's almost silly to even use the word disappointed. I'm still excited about the set but come on who wouldn't rather have 2 performances? We all would and they advertised i

I'm really excited for this festival again despite the change from the original announcement in the first post of this thread. I mean, it's kinda hard not to be disappointed by this. Tweedy solo kinda makes up for it but still...you know.

I didn't sell my ticket yet and I was lucky enough to live in the same state as Jeff's sister so he played a solo acoustic show in Phoenix last December that I was able to attend. It was fantastic. I'm really excited about SolidSound. Now I just have to pull off airfare.
-
The closest they have came to this is probably Lollapalooza 2008 when they headlined a day and Jeff played solo for the Kidzstage as well. I might be able to pull this festival off after all.

I hate to do this as well. I was planning and meeting up with another board member but this all fell apart on me a few days ago. $80 each or $155 for the pair. They are hard tickets and I have them in hand already so they are ready to ship. My loss is your gain apparently as this is going to be one hell of an intimate and unique weekend. Mark my e-mail is azcandyman@gmail.com

Well, my world has sort of collapsed. I had a major car issue and i will no longer be able to attend this wonderful event. It kills me. I do however have 2 tickets to this festival for sale. I will sell them for $80 each which should save people service fees plus a few dollars off of face value. If anyone is interested PM me. These are obviously hard tickets and in hand. We can do paypal or whatever you are comfortable with. I'm really disapointed i'm going to have to miss this show.

Man, this just keeps getting better. I'm thinking we have a full lineup now. Now we just need to know if Wilco is playing 2 sets still!
-
I don't have mine. I figured they would come some time in June though i'm not sure exactly why I figured that. lol

Love this band to death. I'm in Phoenix and i'll be driving to L.A. for night two of their weekend at The Wiltern. I saw them there last year as well. I'm also looking forward to their Sasquatch set as their Sasquatch 2008 set was one of the most incredible performances I have seen them give. I definitely have an obsession with them at this point. This Saturday night they are streaming a benefit from NY live on youtube though maybe someone has already mentioned it in this thread. Favorites from the new album. No, not sets, two headline peformances! I remember where I read it now.. very first post of this thread lol. So I guess we need to find out if we are still getting two!
-
I absolutley love Reservations. I was so happy to hear it get played in Tucson last year. I'll take Heavy Metal Drummer as well, great rock song. Kamera is probably my least favorite. It's interesting that these two songs were both mentioned. Reservations and HMD are the only two tracks on the album that Jay Bennett didn't help write.

FYI I talked to someone at Windsor Lake campground yesterday to make sure they recieved my deposit and had the right dates. She informed they still had spots open! This is the campground closest to the venue. She expects a sell out soon but they do still have spaces available. It's $26 a night and walking distance to the venue. A steep walk on the way back but still doable.

Exactly. I'm seriously concerned. I could swear initially they said 2 sets!!

Offical from Wilco HQ. I'm a bit concerned as now it states only one Wilco set? Should we still expect two? Today we're announcing the first of several lineup additions to Wilco's Solid Sound Festival at Mass MoCA (in North Adams, MA) August 13-15. The full announcement is here, but the gist is we've added the following artists to the bill: Avi Buffalo (Long Beach, CA) Sir Richard Bishop (Seattle, WA) Vetiver (San Francisco, CA) Mountain Man (Bennington, VT) Brenda (Portland, ME) The Books (North Adams, MA) Deep Blue Organ Trio (Chicago, IL) We've also scheduled the Bread and Puppet Theate
