  1. loving this play by play. these guys really stepped up their game.
  2. wishful thinking: wheel > student loan stereo?
  3. it's just amazing. i think this was the song that led to all those reviews that mentioned the stax influence.
  4. didn't they used to open shows with spiders?
  5. my apologies. i guess it's better to wait and see if they even play any of them...
  6. i think you missed a couple early b-sides/non-album tracks, namely "who were you thinking of" and "don't you honey me". also "child like and evergreen" and "no more poetry". i'd welcome any of these gems. i dont think they've done their version of "100 years" live. i'd love for them to dust that off too.
  7. show looks amazing. waiting for the tapes w/ bated breath. thanks for the link to kot's blog. nice songxsong summary of the gig
  8. best news i've heard all day. thanx.
  9. if you see more than one show on any one tour leg your odds of catching a song you haven't seen before go way down. the last song they "added" to their regular rotation that wasn't off a new release was "too far apart". they were playing it pretty infrequently for years, but it became a regular during the summer west coast run and stayed around for the fall. i'm hoping for more of this. also i'd love to hear the new band take on the arena version of "box full of letters". it's wishful thinking, but it gets me every time.
  10. it would pay a lot of dividends in the future, giving them a much larger range of material to work with. i'm excited to hear reworked versions of AM, being there and summerteeth... even if it's only on tape. as much as i love seeing them live, i've grown a little tired of the predictability in their setlist structure.
  11. on the other hand wilco hasn't grown much in terms of the venues they play lately. they've never made the leap to arenas or sheds. i figure with a decent push and a solid opening act they could do outdoor summer shows... a street team could help this. although i have no idea if band is really interested in that type of tour. however, from a fan perspective, i'd rather see them outdoors on their own tour, than on the festival circuit.
  12. that dublin one is super cool. it's not for sale on wilcoworld though...
  13. does the timing include "all over the place"?
  14. i thought the comments re YHF were pretty on point. but making a point about wilco using only YHF reflected badly on the writer. the sample size was much too small. the early sbs reviews kept comparing it to the stax sound, which is obviously heavily influenced by black musicians.
  15. the reissues won't be worth much more than the original sale price. but they should sound pretty great... and they'll last longer than your cds will. is wilco really planning to reissue these?
  16. my advice, make so much money at your day job that the price of vinyl doesn't matter. if your day job doesnt have that potential sell crack.
  17. if there's a live ep it should include "too far apart". i haven't heard enough of the bootlegs to suggest a particular one. also ep should be a free d/l if you bought the record.
  18. hypothetically speaking, if someone were to capture on of these roadcase streams, would it violate wilco's policy to post these on line?
  19. i'm going to see connie britton's sweaty grimace everytime i hear this song from now on.
  20. phish began to stop patches in 1990 when a fan accidentally unplugged the PA, by 1991 it was finnished. sbds were seeded to tape trees, and other 'leaked' out. by 98 sbds were virtually non-existant. http://www.freedumb.net/sbd/sbdlist.html" complete list of pre-hiatus sbds. wilco doesnt need to allow patches if they seed sbds on etree, or upload them to the archive, and as long as they allow fans to make and distribute their own matrix mixes.
  21. looks like feist got a huge bump in sales from having her video in an ipod commercial. any word on whether wilco experienced something similar with their vw spots? lefsetz on feist's bump
  22. like these details matter. pony up enough dough, and the info will get passed along to the right channels, and the band will show up.
