That Dawes album is cool and all, but I am a bit surprised it is generating this amount of buzz 9 months after its release. For one, this place is typically at least a month ahead of an official release in terms of buzz. And, secondly, it's not really that amazing. I mean, I like that sound - The Band, Laurel Canyon era-Neil, CSN&Y, etc. But, is it really that special? If I am going for a modern-day take on that vibe, I gotta say Sky Blue Sky blows the Dawes record out of the water. I hate to be the buzz kill, but, especially on Wilco's board, I feel like I needed to type this.

The score seems a bit high. It's a decent record. I thought it would be in the 5/6 category. Good to see the band get props though.

Pitchfork surprisingly gave TBTD a 7.4.

"All the Wine" sucked me into The National. What a song! However, I agree with Solace. Boxer is an amazing piece of work. I'll take it a step further with my blasphemy and say their self-titled, debut album is better than Alligator.

Fingers crossed for either "After the Scene Dies" or "The Wig He Made Her Wear." I think the latter has no chance in hell, but I'm still hopeful.
