  1. did broken bells come out last year?nobodys mentioned that ive seen. mumford and sons deerhunter deertick broken bells black keys these are all ive heard worth buying, anybody got any suggestions that fit those, even though these are on everyones list.deertick barely makes the cut, nothing was better then war elephant, but this is close.id put tallest man on earth but reminds me to much of deertick mixed with fleet foxes or something.looks like animal collective merriweather post pavillion gets best album of the decade to me.
  2. sorry back to the topic.does boulder theater still have a no taping policy?i know its a bit small for taping but is it still no taping policy?colorado folk?extra points awarded to NATIVE coloradians.
  3. boulder theater is a great venue.leo kottke and mike gordon in 03 or so is one of my favorite shows.i might have to make the trip from kc for that.hopefully tweedy goes on kbco for an interview so i can snag an autograph as well as listen to it.
  4. even if they put out another pop album like wta, they will always be my favorite band because of their previous albums.tweedy can write like no other so,either way,ill buy the next album.i still think he should put out more books of his writings and record a solo album in studio.
  5. ive never understood the hatred of sbs.i thought it was a good release after agib.now wta on the other hand sounded like a complete pop album to me,except country disappeared.but wilco is famous now so why try that hard to make a good album.i think its time for a line up change.nels is clearly amazing but i dont think you need the best to make a great album, you need drive.pat should be dropped just for his annoying stage presence.but yes a jeff solo album should be made in the studio.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnV-agq0Yzw wilco should cover the shit out of this badboy,as long as its in-kc,columbia,mo,lawrence,ks
  7. Yeah I've got adult head and it is good.I meant on a larger scale.the musicians I know have hundreds of notebooks of words and they're nowhere nearly as good at saying something in as little amount of lyrics as tweedy is.he mightve slowed down on that due to raising a family though who knows.
  8. Yeah the catholic church had/has a problem with IVF as well, as it only uses the best embryos and trashes the rest.I agree, why not use them for something good instead of throwing away the unused.certainly eventually it could help the cause of many diseases/injurys.I should throw in the differences of the Vatican Catholics opposed to American Catholics.one is against all stem cell, even adult stem cells I think, while americans are getting more factual info.congratulations on the success,I imagine there's nothing more satisfying/life changing then having a kid. I just wanted to voice my anger at
  9. I wish he'd get his poetry published.I don't know if he just writes to the music but I'd wager he has hundreds of notebooks of unheard writings.put that shit out brother, your lyrics are,to me,half the beauty of your music.
  10. There's no doubt some of the greatest/oldest religons are working with science in astronomy, astrophysics, microbiology, etc in finding the answer we've been looking for forever, the beginning.that said I think they'd all(religous scientists) a purely biblical belief is nonsense.but I'd agree without a doubt there is a higher power and scientific breakthroughs happening yearly bring us closer to god,in whatever form it is. I live in Kansas city, which severly separates science and religion,so round these parts most Christians still believe in a 6000 year old planet.they won't debate the fact they
  11. countries like china{especially},south korea, india,uk,etc. are so far ahead of us that id expect some success in a couple years.human trials have begun,in the us,by way of companies looking to profit.i place no blame, the fact theyre still researching despite all the bitter partisanship in the governemnt/population.so when you need them expect to shell out some dough.personally, ill give anything and everything i have and will have to actually get my groove on at a wilco show again{standing}.i know this is a god debate but i wanted to throw out some other info for anyone curious. also just use p
  12. id like to join this debate as a paralyzed man.they do not grow embryos to get stem cells, that was the problem in the 90s when science was only at the point of using embryonic stem cells.because of that the dickey/wickers amendment was passed banning the national institute of health from using governement funds to fund "any activity that will harm human embryos"{which came from a loud anti-abortion movement even though stem cells do not come from abortions}.the stem cell research enhancement act was passed by the house and the senate during bushs term but vetoed twice by him.now obamas executi
  13. i think i disagree artists owe fans nothing.i personally would love to have any fans, and i would owe them everything.not just for them but for myself.if you owe your fans nothing your only playing to make money.i dont know this but it does seem tweedy has dropped the musically creative side for making more commercially marketable music that he doesnt have to drain himself to come up with, but at the same time for "fans".but i guess when your pushing yourself to make music your proud of, thats all that matters.i see both sides i suppose or maybe its what pushes you at the beginning, making music
  14. each song was done one day at a time right?if you release an album you "should" put more time into the songs.the vu's heroin was the biggest letdown to me,but waiting for my man was superb.either way id buy the album just for the war and peace oar cover, skip spence would be proud.
  15. that guys "hip" cover of the song almost makes me hate it.i understand its how each person relates to it,but he heard this song and wanted to do some upbeat jazzy cover?at least otis redding it slowly with horns.there must be a new drug out there i havent heard of that when he heard it sounded like a happy pop tune in his head.i understand im supposed to be wrong.
  16. deertick but i guess he didnt leave a good enough impression, i thought it would blow him/them up.they need to get o'death to open some shows.

    Loufest?

Anybody else going?got my ticket to see tweedy solo for first time finally, but the rest of the lineup ain't to shabby.perhaps a feist appearance?I'd be cool to see a couple collabs.a tweedy matt ward guitar jam would be cool since they play next to each other but that's a dream.if anybodys going we should have a little meet up or something.just curious cause haven't seen any mention of it
  18. I think it's just what happens when you get huge.if they'd put out a couple shit albums on purpose it might help, but wilco isn't gonna do that.you could tell the chatty cathys to shut the fuck up yourselves and remind em why they came or you can try to become friends with me and get the front row wheelchair seats.I think it's gonna keep getting worse but I'll still be the first one to order my tickets either way.tweedy needs to do more solo shows perhaps one at the fox in st Louis?

  20. man i wish deertick was opening for them in the midwest instead of west.oh well, are the growlers good?
  21. "But make sure you are holding your horse dear friends, for there is no completeness brought by a long piece of chalk for ultimate Wilco and Abba corroborate as developed in rich devious mind of Mr Jeff Tweedy - all as of the great Machievelli Vanilli with the sinking lips and the back stab action for supreme power in pop chart wars"-best sentence ever.we americans need to try talking like this.our vocabulary has gone to the shitter.
  22. jay z can flow with the best of em surprisingly.lil wayne is awesome.hes the james joyce of hip hop.people that cant enjoy his music take themselves way to seriously.as far as girls in the hip hop world.dessa is by far the only one whose worthy of talking about.i guess jean grae and a couple others too, but dessa is tops in my books.my all time fave- cant figure out how to link the youtube video, but artifacts-wrong side of the tracks
