  1. I'm really interested in the Colorado shows but wish I knew more about seating at Red Rocks. Since I'd be coming from Virginia and would need a place to stay anyway, the weekend package looks like a pretty good deal--except I don't know about this: Does anyone have any guess whether the tickets that Front Gate is selling might be any different/better than what's included in the package? From what I can figure out on the Red Rocks website, GA just means the whole section--like, you'd need to line up to ensure getting in the first few rows. And the person I spoke with at Red Rocks said there'
  2. Oh, so glad you got the show taped! It was one for the books. Some of the best between song banter around, plus a varied setlist, all sung wonderfully. It made for such a warm, intimate evening!
  3. Well, the whole family is here, and personally I would love it if Spencer came up and joined him for a song or two, or if he sang thAt new demo song that's on his blog. In fact, Sue was tking requests and letting us submit a question, and that was mine. I am so excited--and COLD!
  4. Actually, semi-serious response: Have y'all ever seen that strange youtube clip where Jeff is discussing a dream he had, about being accosted by guys and later realizing that he's the connector for all these people? The background is all black and he must be wearing a black sweater, because it almost appears that his head is floating. It's on youtube somewhere but I can't find it. Anyway, I've always wanted to know what kind of a project he recorded that for. It's an incredibly illuminating dream that, when you think about it, is very understandable for someone in his position. If I can find i
  5. How'd you get so awesome? And a follow-up: Will you marry me?
  6. How should we know? We're all white. (Remember the 30 Rock line by Queen Latifah, "whiter than a Wilco concert"?)
  7. This got me thinking how I found out about it. I scrolled through my email and I see that the email came to me on 3/27 at 5:51Pm, from Wilco Ticketing. I'm not sure whether it came from Front Gate or just from signing up on Wilcoworld. Can't hurt to do both, plus anything else you can think of (Facebook, Twitter) Hope this helps.
  8. Yes, I guess I'm not all that crushed because this seems to happen all the time with presales. I've actually gotten lucky with them in the past, but it seems that others get shut out and then get tickets when they go on regular sale. I guess they just release such a limited number on the presale that it's only through sheer luck that you get in. Also, I've seen both the Avetts and Dr. Dog and have thoroughly enjoyed both, but to me there's nothing like a long, full, non-festival Wilco show. And since we know there's tour info coming up soon, I guess I'll take my chances. (It doesn't hurt my
  9. I guess I'm spoiled, but if I'm going to travel from Virginia I want pit tickets or nothing. I'm hoping for better luck in the regular sale. (Tried both presales and couldn't get pit.)
  10. It's not just Wilco--also Avetts and Dr. Dog. Seems reasonable to me.
  11. Pit tickets were sold out when I logged on right at 10. Hopefully there will be more at noon for the Avett presale. Thanks for the info, Dave41.
  12. And yet again today, on NPR, some kind of an interlude on a between-shows news update: a few bars of "She's a Jar", which confused me for a minute because that's my cellphone ringtone, and I was reaching in my purse when I realized the sound was coming from the radio.
  13. Heavy Metal Drummer as I walked into the hairdresser this afternoon. I took this as an auspicious sign for the haircolor change I'm about to make. (Still in the chair, so we'll see. . .)
  14. Black Keys tonight in Norfolk. This time for sure! (I showed up a week early last week--duh!)
  15. You must be so excited! Have a wonderful day and enjoy the fruits of your labor (literally, 25 years ago!)
  16. Oh, I didn't doubt you for one minute, dboon. I know just what you mean. Sometimes you just have an epiphany. And both of those songs are balls out amazing. I have been lucky enough to see them performed live and it is transcendent.
  17. Cool. I won't complain, either--I was just hoping to upgrade for Saturday, so I'll just be grateful that I'm there at all.
  18. Yeah, when you go in to purchase those it says that Gold tickets sold at $50 are for regulaR ADMISSION ONLY. i THINK THEIR SYSTEM IS A LITTLE SCREWED UP.
  19. Adult tickets seem to be available, but not gold. Not for me, anyway. . . .
  20. Rufus Wainwright tonight at the Jefferson in Charlottesville! This is his only U.S. date between London earlier this month and the start of a European tour in April. I've always wanted to see Rufus live and am beyond thrilled for this show. It's a small, intimate theater and we're on the floor really close to the front. He has a new album produced by Mark Ronson coming out and Nels Cline was one of the contributors.
  21. I'm using airbnb too! Used it the first time when I went to Nashville for the Ryman shows and it was an amazingly good experience. This time I'm directly across the street from the Vic for $50/night. I'll PM you, Deb.
  22. The Black Keys tonight in Norfolk! Edit: Well, I'm glad I didn't travel out of town for this one. It's NEXT Friday, dammit.
  23. I just added the Black Keys at ODU tomorrow night. Was finally able to snag a decent seat. Still shut out of GA, but it's been a long week and I could use a little sit-down.
  24. Haha. Scroll down on the comments on Spencer's blog and you'll see that I said it before anyone else. (Dkyrus there) Nyah nyah nyah! What I say is we're a discerning bunch of Wilco listeners.
